Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I just saw my first cicada husk. Yay?

I don't remember which cat, but that *was* one of the gifts they could leave you on Neko Atsume. So that's nice, I guess.

I was talking to someone from California and this will be his first cicada, um, experience. I wish him well.

We randomly had a few cicadas (in SD) a few years back. It was a very "WTF is making that noise?!?" experience.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I just saw my first cicada husk.

My brother in NoVa just reported he spotted a cicada flying by earlier today.

ION, yesterday I saw my first hummingbird of the season here northeast of KCMO.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Are there cicadas in Western NY?

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

"Brood VII is the smallest periodical cicada brood in the U.S., and is isolated in the Finger Lakes area of New York State. This cicada has a 17-year life cycle. Sadly, Brood VII will likely be the next Brood to go extinct. Brood VII will return in 2035."

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We took Gary's mom out for dinner last night. It was the first time in a long time we had eaten at a restaurant. The restaurant was fine(although they messed up cooking Gary's mom's filet twice) but Mr. S was being very oppositional throughout dinner, and ran away from us in the parking lot. sigh...

I missed the cicadas, I guess. I was in Monroe County in 2001 and 2018, and they were in my home county of Livingston.

Our wings are not tired.

My neighbor has determined the reason why Mulder has apparently abandoned us. Well, we think he probably still comes home at night. He's a drug addict! She has some catnip plants that she puts outside during the day for her cats, but brings in at night since they would obliterate them if she left them out. She says he comes over in the morning for breakfast and to hang with her couple of cats. She feeds them all outside. She is totally chill about the whole thing and is going to give me some plants to keep here too. She said cats don't really belong to anyone and we just kid ourselves if we think they belong to us.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

They're so fucking loud when they're at their peak (Maximum Cicada!).

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

A few restaurants have announced they'll be closing their outdoor seating when we hit Maximum Cicada because of the noise. Also, the chance of having a little extra garnish - or dinner companion - at that time.

In regard to cats - a friend once talked about a cat she'd had. She didn't allow him on the furniture, kept him to a limited number of feedings and treats. He'd disappear during the day and, once, she went to a neighbor's and he was lying on the couch watching TV and the neighbor told her that he came over every day and she'd feed him and let him lie around. (Is this what they mean by tom-catting around?)

Art Crawl!!!

Hahahaha! Toddson's friend's cat. That's the sort of thing they discovered when they put mini-cameras on housecats.

If it is possible to have be languishing physically while stewing mentally - that's where I'm at.
