Get up...get up, you stupid piece of... What did you do that for? What's wrong with you? Didn't you hear a word he said? All of you! You think there's someone just going to drop money on you?! Money they could use?! Well, there ain't people like that. There's just people like me.

Definitely understand appointment anxiety! I ended up with two appointments for my second dose, because it was supposed to be a Wednesday and as of Saturday they hadn’t made me an appointment, bu ‘‘twas volunteering and got someone to add me. And then they made me an appointment. Oops.

Tom, glad sunlight takes out the virus....it also takes out me (she says, from a shaded pool chair). I am so pale I can only take a little at a time!

Every year though I think “why don’t I just rent a house for a month in the winter??” Maybe next year my dog will be mature enough to trust in a rental house.

Our wings are not tired.

We took the dog with us to the AirBnB in NY for a couple weeks this past winter and it really added a layer of stress. Not super relaxing to have to worry about dog issues.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Thanks, dcp and shrift. Anxiety now erased!

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

We took the dog with us to the AirBnB in NY for a couple weeks this past winter and it really added a layer of stress. Not super relaxing to have to worry about dog issues.

I loved when we'd go to the beach and my BiL and SiL would bring their dog, because it meant 2 things: (1) unfettered dog access, and (2) not my responsibility.

My NY sister offered to try the vaccine links to get Brendon an appointment since I we have had no luck. She is up at all hours of the night and might have more luck. We could probably get him in to Publix but we are too angry about the Publix/DeSantis corruption deal that we refuse. So CVS and the county are the options. Mona has been working with the system in NY getting people appointments so she is real good at it. She has set many people up. She was working with Rite Aid lining up waiting list options for extra doses at the end of the day and gets them all matched up.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I love our doggies to pieces, but I do like getting away from them on vacation and not having to worry if they’re getting Into the trash or whatever.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

My building now allows dogs (with restrictions) and I got to pet one of them last week! it was very nice - I miss being able to pet my neighbors' dogs.

I took off last Friday - thinking I might have a reaction to my second vaccine shot - and to receive a piece of furniture I ordered two months ago. I paid extra to have the delivery guys assemble it for me, which turned out to be a really good idea - not only were they assembling it for me BUT when it turned out to be badly damaged, I just had to say thank you and wave them on their way. If I'd tried assembling it myself, not only would I have had the hassle of trying to make sense of the instructions, but I'd have had to pack it up again and have it hauled back to the warehouse. A modified yay.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I got my first vaccine this morning. The office even had a "vaccine selfie station" set up with a big "I got vaccinated for YOU!" sign.

My mom has a cottage in Maine, and that's pretty much the only place DH and I have gone on vacation since the kids were born (which worked well when they were little, because at least one of them would get sick). We've always done weekends here and there based on the kids' schedules, etc., and then one week.

One summer, we decided to do two consecutive weeks, and it was the longest two weeks of our lives -- with our own kids -- with whom we already lived. I don't even think my mom was there for most of it (if any), so it wasn't even that. It was just a long time to be somewhere else with them.

There was one summer, when my sister and I were maybe 7 and 10 or so, when my mom and my sister and I went up to Maine for a month, and my dad came up some of the weekends and then for the whole last week. I loved it, but I'm starting to realize now why we only did it once.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

If anyone is having trouble getting an appointment in the Seattle area, I recommend trying Safeway/Albertson's. We got our first shot Wednesday at the Safeway at 125th & 15th NE, and it was really easy and smooth--no lines or crowding, no trouble with parking, and the pharmacist scheduled our 2nd dose appointment for the same time three weeks later as soon as he completed the shots.
