If anyone is having trouble getting an appointment in the Seattle area, I recommend trying Safeway/Albertson's. We got our first shot Wednesday at the Safeway at 125th & 15th NE, and it was really easy and smooth--no lines or crowding, no trouble with parking, and the pharmacist scheduled our 2nd dose appointment for the same time three weeks later as soon as he completed the shots.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I have been double-stuck! In a couple weeks I should be fully protected - which is good because my Dad has surgery scheduled for the end of the month and Mom doesn't drive.
Also I'm trying a beef tongue recipe tonight. Wish me edibility!
Random tale from Bonita Springs, FL. Back when I lived here 40 years ago there was a woman in her 90s named Edith Downs. She had lived here all her life and told tales of smoking happy weed with the Seminoles. She told fortunes and stuff and was renowned in the area. She lived very close to me and I visited her often as she was a delight. Anyway, back then the town had 1 traffic light and now, well I couldn't count how many. Today on my drive I passed Edith Lane and Downs Drive, one of which even had a traffic light and I had to wonder if she saw that in her future. I wonder if the people living on her named streets know of her history.
How cool, Laura!
Edibility, chrismg!
She was such a cute little old lady. Lived in a trailer and had pyramids hanging over all the seating places for energy. Lived over 100 years so apparently it helped. Told my mother that dad was going to die, and then he did. Told me that I had to be careful with my husband at the time because I was smarter than him and it hurt his ego to let him know that. She just delighted me all the time because she would say these things out of the blue and just like it just popped into her head. "Would you like some tea dear, oh you are really going to like that kitty you find."
We took the dog with us to the AirBnB in NY for a couple weeks this past winter and it really added a layer of stress. Not super relaxing to have to worry about dog issues.
Yeah definitely right now he’d be one more thing to stress about. But if I wanted to go for longer than a week I’d really have to take him. But maybe when he’s a little older he’ll be more trustworthy and I wouldn’t have to be on guard that he’s not chewing on the furniture or something.
Timelies all!
I've realized that from now on, when we go out of town we will have to hire a pet sitter because of Nova's medications. Not only that, but we'll have to pay for two visits a day.(Her thyroid medicine has to be given every 12 hours.)
Yay for the double-stick, chrismg. I hope your dad's surgery goes well. How was the beef tongue?
I don't think we'll go away any place that we can't take Buffy. She had such a hard early life, I'd feel like we were betraying her. I think DH and I could go for an extended weekend if at least two of the kids were here. She gets very concerned when I'm not home, though.
I understand that, Cindy. My Brandy howled when I wasn't home toward the end. She had to go to work with me. One time I ran to the grocery store for about 45 minutes and when I reviewed the security camera when I got home I saw she stood on the couch and howled the entire time. I never left her again. My current animals are totally fine with staying with family.

Poor baby!
