Yikes, Laura, 75% unmasked? I guess I’m super glad I live here.
The weather was really nice today. I can’t wait for more days like this.
Jesse boo TERFs but yay having a post they won’t like?

I think my most popular post that still gets notes is a post I just copied off Facebook about an older trans lady, so unless that's full of people reblogging it to say they disagree, I think I'm fine on balance, karmically.
In 2017, someone on Twitter made a joke about a croque monsieur (French ham and cheese sandwich, basically), and someone else said they didn't understand the joke, and then I explained it. Every couple of months, I get a few new notifications of people liking my explanation tweet. I have no idea how or why they're even reading that thread.
We drove quite a bit south out of the city to get our vaccines, and we stopped at a big Buc-ee's to get breakfast. (If you don't know Buc-ee's, it's a chain of convenience stores, except Texas-sized. Like, this place had a counter where they sold jerky.) The difference in the number of people without masks there versus in the city was really striking. It's the first time we've been around that many maskless people pretty much since the pandemic started.

It was particularly shocking after being in my little city most of the time where everyone is masked. It was the first time I have been to any kind of event. I really think if the vendors had been required (as posted) to be masked the attendees would have been. It was VERY hot and sticky outside so I get that it was uncomfortable, but yikes. I'll be letting the organizers and city of West Palm Beach know how I feel about it. My downtown area is always super crowded, but people are masked unless sitting at outdoor tables eating!!
People are super conscientious about masks around here, which I appreciate, because otherwise, I'd be an actual hermit. It's going to be weird once they start OKing masklessness again.
I can't find the salt. That is a pretty epic miss around breakfast time for me.
I didn't stay at the show long, partly because of the heat, but also the number of people and the absurd lack of masks. I wrote to the show organizers and the Palm Beach Post about the situation. Of course the website for the show insists all the precautions are required because they care about the health of staff, attendees, and so forth. Grrr. I'd say the overwhelming majority of people there were under 60 and probably not yet vaccinated. This is why we are looking at a possible 4th wave. People coming to Florida for Spring Break and bring disease back home.
No salt! Yeah, I couldn't last long without finding it either.
I’m pretty tired of thinking about plagues but if someone wants to draw analogies between the parting of the Red Sea and the Ever Given I am here for that.
My seder guest yesterday commented on how you can now technically cross on foot the Red Sea without a divine intervention.
Hil, lots of ~ma to your aunt, you, and your family.
Gris, so much ~ma. It's difficult.

That thought occurred to me too!

Thank you for indulging me, Shir
It’s weird that you have to think strategically about Good Stuff, Jesse, but I’m glad you are on top of it.
