Matt, listen to Dr Fauci: GET. VACCINATED. You are not "playing the BMI card" anymore than I was "playing the asthma card" when went in for my shot, you are informing the medical staff of a condition that's been determined to increase your risk of permanent damage or death. And every person jabbed is one less potential carrier or burden on the hospitals.

(Sorry if I'm coming on strong, but that kind of self-denigrating language pushes my buttons.)

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Upon reflection, I'm going to get the shingles shot this afternoon. There's way too much uncertainty for my plan-loving INTJ self whatever I do, but once I get this out of the way "when to get the shingles booster" is no longer one of the balls I'm trying to juggle.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good choice, Susan. Just take that variable out of play.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I think that's a good decision, Susan.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Another advantage to the vaccine is that the fewer people who can be infected, the fewer bodies that the virus can use to mutate into a new - and possibly deadlier - variant. So yes, get the shot when you can.

I still like the kid who called it the "Fauci Ouchie".

Busy day at work, but Wednesdays often are.

Here to validate your decision to get the Shingles vaccine today as well, Susan!

You are not "playing the BMI card"

Word. I'm an introvert who works from home, and I'm very much kicking myself for not jumping on an appointment when some were available early Monday morning when San Francisco said I was eligible because of my BMI. As soon as a slot opens up at a Walgreens or CVS, I'm taking it. Unless I somehow magically lose enough weight that I no longer qualify.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

After getting the 2-shot COVID vaccine, how long would I need to wait on the shingles one? I mean, I’m not giving up my Friday slot, but I’m scheduling a bunch of medical stuff after the second shot +14 days.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Susan, I'm here to echo shrift and everyone else - I watched Jim's brother and mine deal with repeated flare-ups, and you'd best believe I was shoving my arm at my doctor as soon as the supply increased.

And Dr. Google says 14 days after the second shot. Which fits my plans.
