Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

Here to validate your decision to get the Shingles vaccine today as well, Susan!

You are not "playing the BMI card"

Word. I'm an introvert who works from home, and I'm very much kicking myself for not jumping on an appointment when some were available early Monday morning when San Francisco said I was eligible because of my BMI. As soon as a slot opens up at a Walgreens or CVS, I'm taking it. Unless I somehow magically lose enough weight that I no longer qualify.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

After getting the 2-shot COVID vaccine, how long would I need to wait on the shingles one? I mean, I’m not giving up my Friday slot, but I’m scheduling a bunch of medical stuff after the second shot +14 days.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Susan, I'm here to echo shrift and everyone else - I watched Jim's brother and mine deal with repeated flare-ups, and you'd best believe I was shoving my arm at my doctor as soon as the supply increased.

And Dr. Google says 14 days after the second shot. Which fits my plans.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Dang it my dad is in the hospital with chest pains. Tests with no results so far, sounds like, and I'm glad my mother told me now rather than waiting until they know more or he's home or something, but argh. Worried.

ETA he and mom are both fully vaccinated and past the 14-days since the 2nd shot, so that's less to worry about

EATA he says he's having stent surgery tomorrow but he also says they haven't found the problem, so IDK

move out and draw fire

Yikes, -t. I hope the stent surgery fixes whatever it is.

Oklahomans can get the vaccine thanks to the Five Civilized Tribes, who are apparently way ahead of that state and many other in terms of infrastructure.

Being back at school has already made a huge difference in Mal's outlook. There are only 5-6 students per class so population density is much lower than, say, my workplace. I'm hoping this will help with his orchestra grade, as the software they started using for music classes has really bad lag, and no way to calibrate, so there's no way to get a good score on anything more complicated than a beginner piece. And yet it's still counted.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Health~ma for your dad, -t.

It doesn't look like I'll be eligible for the vaccine until they open it up to everyone, which is still planned to start at the end of May in Chicago. I'm going to be really bummed if I don't get a chance to go see my family before we start bringing audiences back to the theatre.

Dylan, who was born and raised in Oklahoma and is Cherokee, has waxed eloquent on that fact, though I remind him that we and especially Alex are better off living in WA. (Though it breaks both of our hearts how problematic both our home states would be for our son.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Being back at school has already made a huge difference in Mal's outlook.

That's great. I remain furious with SFUSD for purposefully dragging their feet on high school reopenings to punt it to next year. I will be voting to remove every single asshole on the school board. Looks like elementary will reopen in April.
