I go online sometimes, but everyone's spelling is really bad. It's... depressing.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I’m planning to keep it a living document and add songs that make me think of her and/or wish I could play for her. I like to think they have Spotify in The Good Place.

This is such a beautiful thought.

Washington has finally updated its schedule for when they expect to expand vaccine access to all of us in group 1b3. My cohort (50 and up, comorbidities) is estimated to start on 4/12, and Dylan's (16-49, comorbidities) on 4/26. I'm feeling better about life than I was at the beginning of the week just because maybe that actually is light at the end of the tunnel rather than an oncoming train.

I do still wonder how long it'll be until we can sing in groups again. Can I hope for Messiah singalongs this December, or will that still be too risky?

Apparently if you're enough of a power nerd, there is nothing that cannot be flowcharted.

Ohio is so fucking slow with the vaccine rollout.

I saw Awesome Doctor today for a post-Covid checkup, and he listened to my lungs and heart and cleared me to resume exercising. He's switching my blood pressure meds to a totally different class because I'm having some tachycardia, which my current BP meds are known to cause. The bonus is that the new BP med is, in addition to lowering BP, supposed to help with both social anxiety (for real) and migraines. That'll be nice. (Though I told Awesome Doctor that there is no dose high enough to deal with *my* social anxiety. He told me to take my meds with a glass of whiskey. This is why I call him "Awesome Doctor.") (Then he said "Uh, to be clear, I was kidding; don't actually take your meds with whiskey." "You know, I was in fact aware of that," I said. "See, you're cool like that," he said.)

He came in the room saying "You had Covid? I can't come near you if you had Covid; the virus will jump to me and I'll get it!" I said "Okay, yes, I licked every surface in this room, but if you don't lick anything, you'll be fine. Didn't they teach you in med school to not lick things?" He said "It's funny that you still think I went to med school."

LOL, awesome doc is funny.

I did not know about the golden statue at CPAC. Now I know it was co-designed by a Mexican who was never mentioned, made in China, cost $15 million, and based on a bobblehead.

FIFTEEN MILLION DOLLARS?!!? Dear god, how does anyone have that kind of money to burn and decide THAT is the best way to do it? Even if you want a trump statue, surely you could get one less than 15 million??

In the end it's only ever been one step, and then the next.

I am willing to hold Teppy's Awesome Doctor with the same esteem as I do Doc Cathy the Elephant Trampler.

Conversation while she was removing skin tags:

"You're not bleeding. Why aren't you bleeding?" "Damn, you have found me out. I'll have to wipe your memory now." "Too late, I've already noted in your records that you're an alien."

Yes and yes.

I just made our annual exam appointments. We try to schedule them all on the same day because the doctor's office is kind of a trip, and the online scheduler is good but not perfect so some phone calls are involved. The receptionist was like "I see that one R. Winchester is also getting an OB/GYN exam...should I assume that's you or should I pick randomly?" and cracked me up.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yes. My sister in NY already got her first vaccine dose; if I were there, I think I'd qualify in at least two different ways, maybe three. In Ohio, my asthma isn't enough to qualify, because it hasn't caused me to be hospitalized in the past year. (There was at least once in the past year when I probably should have gone to the ER, but didn't, partially because going to the ER is a pain and I hate it, and partially because I was concerned about catching Covid there and I figured I'd take a chance on waiting it out at home.)

Librarian Warlord

I am scheduled to get a J&J shot today. Our county will not vax me yet, but the state run places will, as will various pharmacies. (I'm going to CVS). So some of you might also be in this kind of mixed environment. I am happy to be one and done at a local CVS and not have to go to one of the mass vaccination sites some distance away (twice), and I should have antibodies for the expected April spike.
