I am willing to hold Teppy's Awesome Doctor with the same esteem as I do Doc Cathy the Elephant Trampler.
Conversation while she was removing skin tags:
"You're not bleeding. Why aren't you bleeding?"
"Damn, you have found me out. I'll have to wipe your memory now."
"Too late, I've already noted in your records that you're an alien."

Yes and yes.
I just made our annual exam appointments. We try to schedule them all on the same day because the doctor's office is kind of a trip, and the online scheduler is good but not perfect so some phone calls are involved. The receptionist was like "I see that one R. Winchester is also getting an OB/GYN exam...should I assume that's you or should I pick randomly?" and cracked me up.
Ohio is so fucking slow with the vaccine rollout.
Yes. My sister in NY already got her first vaccine dose; if I were there, I think I'd qualify in at least two different ways, maybe three. In Ohio, my asthma isn't enough to qualify, because it hasn't caused me to be hospitalized in the past year. (There was at least once in the past year when I probably should have gone to the ER, but didn't, partially because going to the ER is a pain and I hate it, and partially because I was concerned about catching Covid there and I figured I'd take a chance on waiting it out at home.)
I am scheduled to get a J&J shot today. Our county will not vax me yet, but the state run places will, as will various pharmacies. (I'm going to CVS). So some of you might also be in this kind of mixed environment. I am happy to be one and done at a local CVS and not have to go to one of the mass vaccination sites some distance away (twice), and I should have antibodies for the expected April spike.
My 71 year old mother somehow cannot get an appointment in MA (even with my sister helping.) So frustrating!
In Ohio we may be waiting a fair amount longer. We’re all very low risk in the house, and Dillo is too young to be vaccinated at this time.
Edit: I spoke too soon: sister reports nabbing an appointment at 6am for this coming Wednesday.
The word here in MA, and maybe elsewhere as well?, is to go directly to the CVS site early in the morning.
MD has no state sign up. The state restrictions are still at only 65+. Even when they go to 16-65 with co-morbidities, they are not yet saying what co-morbidities they will be using. If they include BMI over 3O, like NY, then I should be able to get a note from Dr and qualify. If they don't then I will have to wait through the whole next phase before being eligible. It is likely that Mac in TX will be able to get a shot before I do as some locations in TX are taking waitlists.
Jesse, that’s how she got it! CVS website, 6am.
I think the state is releasing doses on Thursdays, but CVS gets them every day direct from the feds? Or something like that.
