And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Buffy is mine now, just like Harry Potter is mine.

If SMG can keep Buffy and kick JW to the curb, so can we.

MT's very vague words are deeply unsettling

So awful.

Hi Allyson!

I've been coming to terms with JW's terribleness for years, and the pain of that is fresh now that we're getting more details from more people who worked on sets. Some of his work I will reclaim in ways that don't benefit him financially, and some of his work he can fucking keep because there's nothing there that I want to bring with me.

So I was already in a murky place wondering what the hell I had done with such a large chunk of my life.

There are so many friends I've made and experiences I've had because of Buffy, and I think it's worth separating that out if you can. There's no ethical consumption! If we did not know that he was an abuser back then, or to the extent that he was, it probably was because he wasn't in a position of power over us. Not in the same way JW could ruin someone's reputation or acting career, anyway. It's a deliberate tactic by abusers so that their victims won't be believed. I'll support those who are speaking up, notice who isn't expressing solidarity, and in some cases worry that they may have their own stories to tell and aren't in a place to share it.

Anyone who is still stanning him, though, knowing what we know now? Get the fuck out.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

In me me me news, I'm still wrestling with Word documents that have been through multiple edits by a bunch of different people ... and I have a new question. It's a document that seems to have styles set so that they'll show up in the table of contents. I went in and there's one section that's not showing up. The section before and the one after are showing up ... but this one isn't. I checked and made sure the styles matched, but it's not showing up. It's a series of articles, each of which has a title; the table of contents has the article number, then a tab and the title, then a tab that aligns at the right margin with a dot leader and the page number. I tried selecting the entire table of contents and hit "update field" and it gave me the choice of updating the page numbers or the entire table. I tried updating the page numbers, but that didn't work. When I selected updating the entire page, it added the section BUT rather than having article number (tab) title (tab) page it put the article on one line with the tab and dot leader to the page number and below it, on a new line, the title with the tab and dot leader to the page number.

Any suggestions?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

When I selected updating the entire page, it added the section BUT rather than having article number (tab) title (tab) page it put the article on one line with the tab and dot leader to the page number and below it, on a new line, the title with the tab and dot leader to the page number.

Is the section title especially long? It might bump the line down.

Nope - they're all fairly short and all fit in.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Allyson, good to see your pixels here. {{hugs}}

I like Dana's statement, it fits well. There have been so many milkshake ducks out there, and really we all knew there was something hinky going on when we watched how Cordie's storyline played out in the last few seasons of AtS. That said, these toxic people operate in a world of plausible deniability, and they are often very personable and pleasant to people who are not their victims, in order to prevent anyone from believing their victims.

I got shot #1 this morning, and got to see a bunch of coworkers (well, their eyes anyway) while we hung around the clinic after our shots. Nobody had a reaction.

On Tuesday I start my new job as branch chief, which will be exciting/stressful. I will try not to suck. But I would have appreciated my former boss having written ANYTHING down about how to do the job. He did not.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Any suggestions?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Congratulations, Consuela! Branch chief sounds important. Also on getting the first shot, I’m pleased to see more and more people getting theirs

I do not want to edit that way, though!
