I hate the scrunchy pocket thing. I don't have an ironing board anymore but will put a towel on a counter top if I have to iron. Which I avoid. When we were kids ironing was a big chore. Seriously folks, permanent press wasn't always a thing. As little ones we ironed my dad's handkerchiefs, then as we got older our cotton school uniforms. Now I fetch things from the dryer and hang them right up. It is a delightful advancement I still appreciate. Mom at least didn't make us iron the sheets as many of my friends did.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
This morning I turned off the wakeup alarms on my phone for the rest of the week, since I'm staycationing. Long list of things that I need to get done, like get my car fixed and inspected, and so on. sigh.
But first I have to go out and shovel, and clear the car. I've made it to the 'mostly dressed' phase, including thermal leggings under my jeans.
You guys, throw out your irons and get a clothes steamer: [link] Total game changer.
I won't buy shirts or pants with a pocket flap for just that reason It's a pain and for pants in particular it never truly stays flat.

Now you tell me! Because I love this shirt, so now I can't give it up.
That steamer is tempting. I added it to my list.

It's so freaking easy. You hang your shirt up (like from the shower curtain rod, or wherever), hold the steamer up to it, and the wrinkles just fall out. Spooky magic.
Trying to hold off a panic attack/meltdown. Had a meeting with big boss and co-worker about work loads, ostensibly since my boss, the deputy to big boss has left.
There is no rush to replaced my boss. Big Boss does not seem to hear me when I say that my workload did not come from boss, but from COVID. Now sure I am not being utilized to my full potential, neither am I 100% busy. But this convo felt very much like, since you don't have a boss to support, your position is probably not full time anymore and what can we do about that?
Like fuckin YIKES!
Also co-worker would be less overwhelmed if she had any process documents in place about what she does. None. It is a whole thing to get trained on how to do anything.
Oh dear, msbelle. Hope that works out ok!
Boss that is gone is the one that was so squirrelly about calendar and timesheeet and communication i general?
I got as far as opening up my appraisal template to think about maybe starting that and it just filled me with despair. Maybe if I can find last year's appraisal to work from that would help. Although meanwhile I have normal Monday work stuff to do...
