I have reached the point in the week where I don't want to eat anything that's in my house.

This was me last night with dinner. I was actually making a pot of my aunt's 222 soup and was like, no, we need to get takeout. Unfortunately, although we live close to lots of options, the MG pretty much only ever wants to go to three places that I'm completely bored with at this point.

Plus, I try not to eat takeout that much (mostly for health reasons) but I'm just so tired of cooking for two. I miss the days when I could cook a few days a week and have leftovers the rest of the time.

JFC our self appraisals are due next Friday

I took next Thursday and Friday off and I am always busy as hell early in the week. This sucks.

Since I'm a manager at my new company (despite having worked diligently for the last 10 years to never have to be a manager again so that's how desperate I was for a job), I not only have to do my own "amazing things I will achieve this year" now, without really knowing the company, but also have to advise my underlings on theirs and make sure they do them.

I plan to advise each of them to just put "LLEEEEEEERRRROOOOOYYYY JENKINS!" on their form.

Reader, I ordered a lamb shawarma platter from the gyro place in town. It was twice what I would have paid at a Manhattan street card and I had to drive to get it, but I DON'T CARE it was so great.

In happier news, I picked up my daughter's first pair of glasses from the optician today, and she's just wandering around the house reading book titles from across the room in amazement.

We have been told to have our cameras on for the next meeting which will also cover this development, so I'd better practice schooling my face

Aw. So many of my friends (and my mom) had a "trees have individual leaves you can SEE" moment after getting their first glasses. Probably not this time of year, I guess
