By far, one of the most fucked up parts of the last several years is the sinking, bone-deep understanding that, when the apocalypse comes, yes, you will still have to go to your job
Right? You'll be on the freeway with hellfire raining down around you, and manage to call work (even though cell service should be down; let's chalk this up to the deal that Verizon made with the devil), and your boss replies "This'll be your third time being late in a month. You know that means I'm going to have to write you up" as you hear buildings collapsing in the background.
I don’t know, I might get laid off and not have to go in.
I finished work and lay down to think about what I want to do about dinner and remembered I had not filed my taxes yet. So I fired up the H&R Block app on my phone to see how far I could get without needing to actually sit up and turn on a laptop and actually did it all! What a world.

I found out yesterday that 2-hour work meetings are much less onerous if you can pet your boss' highly affectionate labrador retriever throughout.

I had mentally prepared myself to not go running this morning, but it's so sunny out now I have to reassess.
But that might just be the Onerous Task Avoidance talking.
Speaking of onerous tasks, I just got my colonoscopy scheduled for May 6!
