I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Fuck yeah, benign!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Yay Susan! I love Woo Hooters!!!

I have been reading a lot lately on how high-masking smart neurodivergent women just FALL THE FUCK APART during perimenopause because all of the coping mechanisms we've been using since puberty were built on a foundation of mostly reliable hormone levels, which, as it turns out, were pretty important for day-to-day functioning.

I know I already commented on this, but I think it was actually a one-two punch of COVID isolation plus perimenopause. I was really good at peopling. I made a study of people. But, like, I forgot how and then also lost my memory. I am so glad that Laura and David reached out to me, though, because it is helpful being here.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

In other good news, Alex was reinstated in the Seattle Promise program for spring quarter. Now all we need is for Dylan to come through the current round of layoffs at his Big Tech Company unscathed, and our family can declare victory for the week.

You belong here! Much loved and valued.

Alex was reinstated in the Seattle Promise program for spring quarter.

Excellent news!

Our wings are not tired.

Susan, lovely to read all the good news this morning. May the good keep coming the rest of the year.

Well done, Long Island voters. Really wish you had paid attention before making us endure Santos. Now we need another dozen or so districts to wake up and get rid of the crazy.

Today may be Valentine's Day to most of the world, but it was my dad's birthday so it is always a special day in my family. DH made me breakfast, which was nice.

Trying to find a cruise to take with my sisters. Yikes, they got pricey!

Susan, Woo Hooters! (Love that.)

Wow, so cool to see so many peeps "posting-in" -- love that, too.

tl;dr--its been a fairly harrowing two weeks involving a friend just finally diagnosed with bipolar.

I am (and he's is) so grateful for an amazing group of friends and a son who are rallying in many ways for him (divorced and lives alone). Day 1 of a step-down partial hospitalizatin program today which looks really good, and he is doing a thousand times better than two weeks ago.

There is so much else, but I will process it with my therapist, who is awesome.

I am just hoping for a day where I can concentrate and be chill while I work today.

Starting with a delicious cup of my new chai tea, effing right.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I have finally woken up enough to realize there is a vase with three red roses on the kitchen table and called TCG to thank him. He must have hidden them in the basement yesterday. And I'm assembling his and ltc's Valentine's gifts while drinking a Amor latte from my local place. I have no memory of what I actually bought either of them but I'm hoping I have enough that I don't have to run out and get anything else.
