We are currently having an argument with a client about something they want us to deliver, which we never deliver with any client, but this client insisted on it with a prior project as well. And we didn't deliver it, because we DON'T and it wouldn't be helpful, and we showed him how to accomplish the same thing a different way, but NO, he MUST have this document.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
yeah, it did read as if maybe smonster had found, if not her lobster, a crawfish of some kind. Hope it works out for the best, either way. Good for you, Atropa.
Woohoo Atropa!
I am working from home today, my boss is on vacation and the other person on our team is also off work and I'm finding it very hard to force myself to actually do anything. But I am actually accomplishing stuff, if very slowly. My prep for tomorrow is already in the car: 2 bottles of wine and the ingredients for microwave pumpkin pie (which I want to try because it doesn't call for eggs. I hope it's good, I think I have enough stuff to make two batches). I need to figure out what to wear. I was so happy that I only had to come up with two office appropriate costumes this week, I forgot about dressing for a festive dinner with the parents. I mean, we have in years past forgot that we were going to change out of the grubby stuff we put on to cook in, there's no actual pressure, but getting dressed always has some element of stress to it.
I am still sitting in tech rehearsals for A Christmas Carol today. I've been amping up the spooky on the deisgn this year. It's what you get when a horror designer does a Christmas show.
Nice. I like a scary Christmas Carol.
It *is* a ghost story.
We're nearing the end of our put-in for our alternate Scrooge. Previews tonight, Friday, Saturday and then opening on Sunday. Monday morning is focus for our new play festival. I'll be hanging out with Tom Morello for some of that.
24 hours delay in the ceasefire deal. Reports say Hamas didn't sign yet, but the news is new and if there's one thing I learned by now is to wait at least a few hours (if not days) before I trust anything that wasn't published and verified by several independent sources.
(I made tentative plans to see some friends in a more targeted area on Friday if there's a ceasefire).
It *is* a ghost story.
Exactly. We've been having fun with the sound design and the spooky spectral this year. It's year 20 for me with the show, and I think 42 or something like that for the overall production.
Timelies all!

smonster, I’m so sorry to hear this.
lisah, this will be hard but there will be moments you can take with you. Of love, if not joy - and maybe some of that too.
