Sometimes I like my grilled cheese with some of Dave's whole grain bread, very country and leaning towards cheddar with some mustard.
Sometimes though I want more of a white bread where I focus on getting the outside golden by cooking it in butter and I'll have a mix of Gruyere and Munster or Havarti.
But doing the Brie with apple thing is also good.

Friends, I'm sorry I've been so absent lately. I have been reading and sending virtual hugs and positive wishes; I've just been operating in overwhelm. My troubles are minuscule compared to war and loss of life, of course.

Oooh, that sounds delish. I have tried incorporating cheddar cheese into pie crust for apple pie with not quite the results I'd hoped for, this Cheez It approach is intriguing!
They are in the oven and the Cheez-it shortbread smells wonderful, so I have high hopes!
