I did shit today!
Got my stitches out. Unfortunately the chest scar looks kind of gnaly with a keloid. Boo. I expect I'll get laser-ized in future for that.
More importantly, I got FOUR things in the mail! Important documents that had to be signed! I signed them! I sent them Certified Mail WITH paper receipt! So many handwritten addresses. So tedious.
Two other things went out Priority Mail. Also making pathetic noises to financial services assistant, Angie, lead to her expediting the Sept and Oct trust payments which were held up by JZ's passing.
I put some extra money in Matilda's account and told her to take the teenagers to Target to get them some sneakers. Their grandmother kicked them out of the house without shoes. The baseball coach (Matilda's coach) bought them some slides, but they really need actual shoes.
Also, I'm going to leverage the proximity to my friend, Jes the Artist, and we're meeting at a French/Italian bistro mid point between our already walkable homes, to get an Aperol Sprtiz and a salad or something.
It's hot as balls here in SF's traditional Indian Summer. 91! Caramba. We're not built for this.
Yay, proximity!
Timelies all!
Yay for getting shit done, David!
Got my flu shot today. Arm’s a bit sore, but so far that’s it.
Yay for a productive day, David! And I LOVE that you and Matilda took in the teens. That's so wonderful. You are right, JZ would love it.
Loving all the fall imagery, Laura. I do miss that season. It was 98 today. Not. On.
Otherwise, I'm just here to be depressed about money. Don't want to get into the details, but things are hairy right now, and I'm feeling really down about it. Anyway, carry on.
gentle fistbump of solidarity with Pix
Yeah. Money is not a fun thing right now.
Ugh, that sucks Pix and ND. Hope it clears up soon.
I had a weird thing happen today at the gym. Not sure if I had an asthma attack or a panic moment or wtf happened. Like, I didn’t feel like I wasn’t getting oxygen or wasn’t able to breathe, but for a few minutes (after some running) I was basically gasping as I inhaled? And I think that freaked me out and made it worse? Not fun, did not enjoy, want to prevent in future (but without saying “therefore I will now not leave my couch” because I really do need to get in shape)
Also it has been gorgeous fall weather here the past few days and that has been so so nice.
David, as I've said, "Never put off 'til tomorrow what never needs to be done."

That sounds very unpleasant! Let's avoid that. And yes, breathing issues can increase anxiety and panic.
Sorry about the money stress. Sending pay~your~dang~bills~ma toward your customers.
I'm annoyed at my son, but can't really say anything. He can't stand living in the city where he is, and really I would hate it too. He wants to move about a half hour away to a better location. That's fine except his GF has a wonderful job that she loves and they love her. She doesn't drive and he doesn't want to drive her that far to her job. He does delivery so his schedule is completely flexible so it is doable, he could even catch a delivery headed in whichever direction he was going. There is no other real option for transportation except maybe a coworker meeting them half way. Anyway, he is a jerk. My concern is that she is going to get sick of him always having to have things his way and leave him. He has had maybe 3 serious girlfriends who have all left him, and then he is devastated and sobbing, when honestly it is always his fault. I am gently trying to get him to be more accommodating, but not much I can do. Kids! (yes at 31 he is still a kid)
We've got a hummingbird trapped in the house.
I tried to use a broom to shush it towards the open window but that just made it flee in high speed terror.
So now I've opened several windows and closed several doors and hope the beautiful dimwit figures it out.
