Yay for Tim!
I'm now feeling very fatigued and vaguely feverish, so clearly I celebrated my lack of side effects to soon.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

All the cool kids are feeling crappy from the Covid booster. Welcome to the club!
Joining those doing things that interest them, I signed up for a presentation from my local art museum on the Etruscans. They’re less well known than the classical Romans, but what I’ve heard sounds neat.
The Etruscans are fascinating. Jealous.
Around here, a lot of people are getting SPIKEVAX appointments, but the pharmacy doesn't actually have it when the appointment comes. So wish me luck tomorrow morning. Otherwise, I'll just get the flu shot, which is better than nothing.
Work remains a cluster. Boss is now on admin leave and there is going to be an outside investigation into allegations of a hostile workplace and unethical practices. Giant poop show.
Oh dang, msbelle. I hope it's satisfying that at least everyone knows your boss is a shitshow.
I also hope the memorial is good (or whatever...satisfying? helpful? what you all need it to be.)
SPIKEVAX appointments
SPIKEVAX is a badass name. It should have an exclamation point as part of the official name: SPIKEVAX!
Agreed! That is why I like to use it.
but would it make my poems bloody awful?
I have an appointment on Monday. I'm due for flu, covid and shingles. I may need to make another appointment for some of those. Ugh.
I am pretty sure I missed a bunch of stuff, but I skimmed a bunch of posts.
Laura, I wanted to make sure I said: my sister got her hip replaced last year and it was a revelation. She's so much happier, the pain is gone, she has her mobility back. She recovered from the surgery very quickly, at least by comparison with a knee replacement. So if things don't improve, I'd recommend at least considering it?
David, sounds like Moh's procedure? Been there, got the MRSA. They present it as being NBD, but I was seriously shakey and unsettled afterwards, and then of course it got infected. No fun, on top of a shitty time for you. I'm so sorry and I hope you recover quickly.
I have not had tacos after coming back from France (the "tacos" there look like grilled burritos, not sure what they put in them), and I am getting as many vegetables as I can.
But in other news, I got to hold my great-nephew last night and he SMILED at me! He is of course adorable. His mother had covid, and that was very hard for them: she was nursing him masked and then had to leave all his care with his father and GM. Thankfully she is over that now and can barely bring herself to let him go. Poor little bean, but he seems to be thriving.
Gave blood this morning and decided it would be wiser not to try to get my covid booster yet, as the donation knocked me out entirely and I slept for 2 hours this afternoon.
And of course the fucking GOP is shutting down the government tomorrow, so I will be holding down the fort with less than half my team, plus doing the timecards for half the division because the other supervisors are all furloughed, plus who knows what. This is such a hot mess, but it does sound like I'll get paid if it goes on for more than 2 weeks (because the funding source for my position is multi-year money).
David, sounds like Moh's procedure?
Correct. I'm being mindful about taking care of all my open wounds.
