SPIKEVAX appointments
SPIKEVAX is a badass name. It should have an exclamation point as part of the official name: SPIKEVAX!
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Agreed! That is why I like to use it.
but would it make my poems bloody awful?
I have an appointment on Monday. I'm due for flu, covid and shingles. I may need to make another appointment for some of those. Ugh.
I am pretty sure I missed a bunch of stuff, but I skimmed a bunch of posts.
Laura, I wanted to make sure I said: my sister got her hip replaced last year and it was a revelation. She's so much happier, the pain is gone, she has her mobility back. She recovered from the surgery very quickly, at least by comparison with a knee replacement. So if things don't improve, I'd recommend at least considering it?
David, sounds like Moh's procedure? Been there, got the MRSA. They present it as being NBD, but I was seriously shakey and unsettled afterwards, and then of course it got infected. No fun, on top of a shitty time for you. I'm so sorry and I hope you recover quickly.
I have not had tacos after coming back from France (the "tacos" there look like grilled burritos, not sure what they put in them), and I am getting as many vegetables as I can.
But in other news, I got to hold my great-nephew last night and he SMILED at me! He is of course adorable. His mother had covid, and that was very hard for them: she was nursing him masked and then had to leave all his care with his father and GM. Thankfully she is over that now and can barely bring herself to let him go. Poor little bean, but he seems to be thriving.
Gave blood this morning and decided it would be wiser not to try to get my covid booster yet, as the donation knocked me out entirely and I slept for 2 hours this afternoon.
And of course the fucking GOP is shutting down the government tomorrow, so I will be holding down the fort with less than half my team, plus doing the timecards for half the division because the other supervisors are all furloughed, plus who knows what. This is such a hot mess, but it does sound like I'll get paid if it goes on for more than 2 weeks (because the funding source for my position is multi-year money).
David, sounds like Moh's procedure?
Correct. I'm being mindful about taking care of all my open wounds.
I'm glad you're taking care of yourself, David, but you really didn't need One More Fucking Thing.
Dana, did you make it out of town ok? It took me 4 hours to get home - metro north trains weren't running south of the Bronx, so I had to trek up to Yankees stadium, and then the train I got on had to be taken out of service one stop before mine because the tracks ahead were underwater.
(And then of course everyone else on that train was also trying to get a taxi, AND some of the local roads were closed....total fucking nightmare. Haven't had a commute that bad since Sandy.)
The one stroke of luck was I'd parked far enough away from the tracks that my car wasn't flooded when I finally got back to it.
Yikes, Jessica. The reports we have seen looked terrible. My SIL drives an MTA bus in Manhattan. Reminds me that I need to see how she is doing.
I hope you are more comfortable today, David.

Thanks, Consuela. I've known people who have done well with them too. So far so good with the softwave therapy. Pain is gone and no more lockups. Still have another 6 treatments to go. Surgery is more than a last resort for me because I can't tolerate pain killers, which I didn't know until I had bunion surgery. That was a whole lot of no fun. I got through the appendectomy taking one half of one pill because it was better to just stay as still as possible than to risk a violent reaction to the meds. I kept looking at the bottle of pill and deciding it wasn't worth it. I can somewhat take a child portion of Tramadol without getting too sick.
oh yikes, that's awful.
I hope the current treatment keeps working for you!
