ltc doesn’t have school today because one of the other towns in our district is in a state of emergency after all the rain last night.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
For those of you who remember "it was white and square and looked like a tooth" there's this. heh
Yikes, Hil! I'm so glad you're okay.
How are you feeling, Hil? You’re going back to work tomorrow, right?
I hope they’ll be able to treat your uncle effectively, smonster.
I realized from my surprise at the well wishes that I just assumed this was the beginning of the end for him and he’d be dead in a few months, if not sooner. Speaks to my mindset right now.
Related but brighter, I recognized my mentor’s wife walking her dog on my way to work and pulled over to talk. I got an update and hugs and now we have each other’s number. Glad to have a conduit for info out and support in.
Mercury super needs to stop drinking that Gatorade. Or whatever is going on needs to knock the fuck off.

Feeling OK. Not 100%, but well enough to go to work tomorrow -- it's a relatively light day, just teaching two classes. Still covered with all sorts of scary-looking bruises (on my arms from the IVs and cuffs, and on my chest from the CPR) that will show when I'm wearing a short-sleeved shirt, so prepared to get some stares and questions from students and/or colleages.

Jesus, Hil! That's terrifying, and I'm so glad you called 911 when you felt off.
That's amazing that you are already going back to work, Hil! I hope you are not pushing yourself too fast, but I'm glad you didn't need more invasive measures.
Totally, on both fronts. (and if somebody says "what are the odds?" you are uniquely positioned to answer.)
Take it easy tomorrow, Hil! I hope it goes well for you.
Hil, I can't help but think how much that has to say about dealing with chronic pain. Back to work just after getting out of the hospital. Try not to overdo it.
