Yeah, despite the stress this trip sounds like it was a good idea for all the principals involved.
Wishing you a mild case of Covid and a quick recovery, dcp.
I just got confirmation that what I caught from the bar mitzvah last weekend isn't Covid, which is a relief yet highlights how much of a baby I've become about infectious diseases in the three years since having any. What do you mean I'm going to have a sore throat and stuffy nose FOR A WHOLE WEEK?!?
Why is there jargon for this? Just say who you want in a meeting.
I feel sure someone who drank the Six Sigma kool-aid decided that wouldn't be sufficiently trendy and prone to misunderstanding.
My boss is all about jargon if she’s ready it in an HR association publication. She’s obsessed with asking people in interviews about what various acronyms mean.
Had a lovely Saturday this far albeit still warm and muggy.
Now waiting for the child to go look at a car for him. Fingers crossed he likes it and we can stop being a one car household.
David, I'm glad things are going as smoothly as can reasonably hoped for. I hope the Universe decides to lay off soon.
Dcp, I hope it passes quickly. Did they give you paxlovid? I basically always had gum in my mouth when I was on paxlovid to fight the awful taste.
We had to take the OTHER kid to the ER last night for a high fever. He doesn't have COVID, RSV, flu, or strep. He has a touch of pnuemonia, so he's getting a 10-day course of antibiotics and can't hold the baby till he's fever-free for 24 hours (same standard as going back to school). The nurse said it was unlikely to be super-communicable, so that's a relief (I was considering the baby and me being out of the house for a few days because this does not seem like the time to tempt fate). For those keeping score, this is our 3rd different hospital in the 3 weeks since Arthur was born. There do exist 3 other hospitals on this island, although having a reason to go to Kohala is hard to imagine (and I work at another of the 3)
Goodness kiddos. Feel better.
Timelies all!
We just have Mr. S for one night. Considering the weather, that’s probably a good thing.
Bought the car. No more car sharing.
Now I immediately want tracking on him. Why am I like this?
That was a somewhat more eventful week than I'd planned. I'm OK now, but spend the past few days in the Cardiovascular ICU. (And then my sister was planning to fly out here Friday morning, but she got Covid. So my dad flew in today, but I'd already been discharged from the hospital and there wasn't really anything I needed help with at home, so I mostly napped while he watched TV.)

Oh, no. I hope things calm down soon.

First, yay! Car sharing sucks. Second, yeah, I get that impulse so very much.
Hil, I'm glad your dad is there even if you don't need much. Better to have some company. I'm sorry you are going through this.
Oh, no, Hil! Glad you are out of the hospital. Hope you are better soon.
