I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

My boss is all about jargon if she’s ready it in an HR association publication. She’s obsessed with asking people in interviews about what various acronyms mean.

Had a lovely Saturday this far albeit still warm and muggy.

Now waiting for the child to go look at a car for him. Fingers crossed he likes it and we can stop being a one car household.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

David, I'm glad things are going as smoothly as can reasonably hoped for. I hope the Universe decides to lay off soon.

Dcp, I hope it passes quickly. Did they give you paxlovid? I basically always had gum in my mouth when I was on paxlovid to fight the awful taste.

We had to take the OTHER kid to the ER last night for a high fever. He doesn't have COVID, RSV, flu, or strep. He has a touch of pnuemonia, so he's getting a 10-day course of antibiotics and can't hold the baby till he's fever-free for 24 hours (same standard as going back to school). The nurse said it was unlikely to be super-communicable, so that's a relief (I was considering the baby and me being out of the house for a few days because this does not seem like the time to tempt fate). For those keeping score, this is our 3rd different hospital in the 3 weeks since Arthur was born. There do exist 3 other hospitals on this island, although having a reason to go to Kohala is hard to imagine (and I work at another of the 3)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We just have Mr. S for one night. Considering the weather, that’s probably a good thing.

Bought the car. No more car sharing.

Now I immediately want tracking on him. Why am I like this?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

That was a somewhat more eventful week than I'd planned. I'm OK now, but spend the past few days in the Cardiovascular ICU. (And then my sister was planning to fly out here Friday morning, but she got Covid. So my dad flew in today, but I'd already been discharged from the hospital and there wasn't really anything I needed help with at home, so I mostly napped while he watched TV.)

Our wings are not tired.

We had to take the OTHER kid to the ER last night for a high fever.

Oh, no. I hope things calm down soon.

Bought the car. No more car sharing.
Now I immediately want tracking on him. Why am I like this?

First, yay! Car sharing sucks. Second, yeah, I get that impulse so very much.

Hil, I'm glad your dad is there even if you don't need much. Better to have some company. I'm sorry you are going through this.

Oh, no, Hil! Glad you are out of the hospital. Hope you are better soon.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm OK now, but spend the past few days in the Cardiovascular ICU.

No bueno! I don't like that. Be healthy and better. I'm glad you're on the mend.

I'm packing up. We'll head over to my sister's cabin in a bit and I'll say my goodbyes. Then I'll be driving to ATL with my grandnephew, Brandon, who's hitching a ride.

I'm going to have a little side talk with my sister and Crystal and Amy (her caretakers). The essence of which will be, "My beloved yet willful sister, you've already taken a horrible fall and bruised yourself from face to arm to hip. You are going to have to let go of some perceived dignity and stop going to the potty by yourself, because you can barely stand up and take two steps anymore. So, you're not going to switch to diapers AFTER you have your next fall and break your nose on the toilet tank. You're going to let your caretakers decide when it's time. It is a privilege to take care of somebody at the end of their life, and I promise you they will feel nothing but tenderness as they tend to these undignified requirements."

Not looking forward to a day of travel, but very eager to be back home.
