I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I just tested positive for COVID. Ugh. It’s summer cold-y right now, and I have an appointment for a non-home test and hopefully Paxlovid tomorrow. So annoying. I have stuff to do.

Ugh, may it clear quickly for you.

Calli, that sucks. I hope your symptoms stay mild and it fucks off quickly.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I am convinced that Pax made a huge difference in my COVID adventure last year. May yours be as boring as mine was!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Health~ma to all.

There is definitely water damage in our house, we just don't know how much. The ceiling in the lower levels got water logged, and in the case of Gary's office, much of it came down. The carpet on the stairs down to the basement has been removed, and we have many dehumidifiers going.

Needly to say, the home visit with Mr. S has been canceled for this weekend.

Water issues in the home are the worst. I hope it’s all resolved quickly, Sheryl.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

So glad at the village of helpers appearing at critical turns.

Steph, I feel you so much. I can just imagine my dad doing something like that and you’re left in the “ this is so so hard and you’ve just made it harder and I kind of want to strangle you, but I can’t even really yell at you stage.” Try not to blow a blood vessel before it passes.

Someday when I redo my bathroom, I am definitely getting a heated floor.

I’m redoing my bathroom right now AIFG!

No really. It’s about 70% done and it looks so awesome. I did not go for the heated floors. I’m not sure I trust the wiring to that degree. But it’s going to be such an improvement and I could not love how the tile and stuff came out more.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Nice, brenda!

Oh no, Sheryl, that sounds like a mess.

I hope Tim has better control of his body by now?

I am on vacation now and already wish I had taken more time off!

Our wings are not tired.

I just tested positive for COVID.

Oh crap! I'm sorry. I hope it is quick and mild.

Water issues in the home are the worst. I hope it’s all resolved quickly, Sheryl.

Indeed. And difficult to know for sure how much has been damaged.

I’m redoing my bathroom right now AIFG!

Amazing the importance of the tiniest room in the house.

Enjoy the vaca, Jesse.

Just got home from dinner with DH and my niece. Friday night is the big fish fry night here, but he has the only one who got that. However, they had a drink called an Adirondack Lemonade, which super tasty. No idea what was in it, but let's just say I certainly couldn't have had two.

SO much better now. We've worked out the timing of what drugs to take when, and how to make sure to not accidentally double up. We haven't tested the process of getting into/out of bed now that he's un-roofied, but I think it'll be okay. Not easy-peasy, but back to the original process where I steadied him while he did most of the maneuvering (versus this morning's debacle of me having to brute-force manhandle his entire floppy, drugged-out, bag-of-sand body).

My back is still sore, but ibuprofen is my best friend.
