I hope Tim has better control of his body by now?
SO much better now. We've worked out the timing of what drugs to take when, and how to make sure to not accidentally double up. We haven't tested the process of getting into/out of bed now that he's un-roofied, but I think it'll be okay. Not easy-peasy, but back to the original process where I steadied him while he did most of the maneuvering (versus this morning's debacle of me having to brute-force manhandle his entire floppy, drugged-out, bag-of-sand body).
My back is still sore, but ibuprofen is my best friend.
I’m so glad it was a temporary situation, Teppy! And hope Tim improves every day.
Sheryl that flood is such a drag, sorry to hear about it.
Off to go running before Nanita gets here!
JZ is up on the couch. Needed a lot of meds during the afternoon yesterday, but made it through the night without any need for them. So that's a good night.
I just shared this on FB, but for those who prefer not to go there...
Jacqueline was well topped off with pain meds as I put her to bed last night. So when she heard the little "hoo hoo" sound made by the pump attached to her G Tube she said, "I think there's a little owl outside." I assured her it was just the suction pump.
By 4am when she woke up again, no longer on meds, she'd forgotten the earlier conversation. Again she heard the "hoo hoo" sound and said, "Can you hear that?"
I said, "Yup. It's the pump. It's going 'hoo hoo.'"
JZ: "Phew. I thought I was having auditory hallucinations. It sounded like it was saying 'fuck you.' Which seemed pretty rude for an auditory hallucination. Or indeed, even for an owl."
Ha! It's an excellent plan to imagine it as an owl. I pretend my tinnitus is crickets.

Some owls are shitheads, though.
Some owls are shitheads, though.
Indeed. Though there is a new book out on owls that looks pretty interesting.
I've finessed the Pandora station so it's going full Lilith Fair for JZ.
Some owls are shitheads, though.
As are eagles! We had one swoop down and do away with 2 baby loons. The adult loons screamed for the longest time. Nature sucks.
Nanita, had a really good visit with Jacqueline.
While Nanita was here I read all the comments Buffistae and friends have made online for Jacqueline and read them to her. So she has heard your words and love.
ohh yay Lilith Fair playlist!
Nature often sucks but usually there are moments of awesome ness and adorableness that make you forget screaming loons or cicadas exist or that mockingbirds will dive bomb you if you get too close to the nest.
