Our wings are not tired.

Oh dear, Matilda. I can feel her emotional overload and just wish I could send something more than soothing ~ma.

Always Anti-fascist!

Sorry, Matilda. Kind of a rotten time to need to dig deep, but life sucks like that sometimes. You can survive not-so-great finals, though. mine often pulled things down, not that I'm a success. But I have found outlets for my antisocial tendencies(Virtual rally in a few minutes) Wish I could mess up the phone thief, though

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Isn’t theft against the law? Shouldn’t the phone thief get arrested? I’m not big on cops for stuff that needs a social solution, like hunger, mental health, or homelessness. But the kid’s not stealing bread or baby food.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Because the thief has a documented "family situation" with the school they get handled differently.

Punishingly Intricate

Poor Matilda. This is a lot for the wee nugget to be going through. I hope school ending soon will take some of the stress off her.

Thrive to spite them

Poor Matilda.

I'm sorry the phone thief has family problems but sometimes kids need their actions to have consequences and not just be ignored.

Life changes are hard.

I had a nice visit with Mom and Dad. We ate lunch at the "new Mexican place" and it's really good but unfortunately the dishes aren't Tex Mex so there was some confusion over what to order but it worked out even though M and Dad weren't 100% sure what they ordered. Dad got a Torta Cubano which was like a meat lovers sandwich with 4 types of meat and a fried egg. M got Tacos Birria which he didn't really like.

The visit was nice. Mom heard from the hospital about Aunt W. She had a severely fractured hip not broken and the surgery went great. Then we heard from J's social worker (her grandson who is in foster care) they was some confusion about payment for his summer camps but it ended up working out. He is going to one class/camp called Roller Coaster Physics and another about dinosaurs . Plus he has been getting straight As and doing make up work. His foster parents had to deal with some discipline when he has acted out and he seems to be doing better with firm boundaries.

E has a part time job. Very part time helping out where he does a swim meet. Next year he will be eligible to be an assistant with thr kids and be a lifeguard although that might not be until he is 7. I can't remember. He is flying to Greenville on June 15th before his summer camp up in NC and then after will fly out on July 5. He can fly by himself from VA to here and I'll pick him up etc. The 16th is my birthday so its a nice way to celebrate.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, hah, I had tacos birria for lunch and it was pretty great.

I had more appropriate reactions to a lot of stuff as I was reading/lurking but that is all I can manage with current brain, sorry

That does sound great!

I put my newly pickled onions in a little Reuben slider. What I was hankering for but small enough not to make me feel greasy and bloated for hours.

The tale of the SIM card concludes with David discovering an ATT store literally next door to Matilda's school. Went there and got a new SIM card in about ten minutes.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Had a virtual appointment with my prescribing psychiatrist today and she was 15 minutes late. Ugh.
