I hear there's a really good place nearby called Zazie. Have you tried it?
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Lol Tom

I'll check it out.
Glad you *finally* made it home! Jeesh.
the Stariel series by AJ Lancaster.
Ooh, I read that pretty much at random and liked it much more than I expected to (I kept seeing the cover/title of the first one and something about it put me off but I think I eventually had access to a copy for free so gave it a try. Once I got started I plowed through the whole series and enjoyed it muchly)

Yeah, I got it in one of those $0.99 or free deals and then it sat in my kindle library for ages before I felt like trying it. I'm glad I did, though.
I'm just starting The Salvagers series by Alex White, who isn't an author I'd heard of, and I think this is his first run at authoring.
Somewhere I read a "this is the closest thing you'll get to new Firefly" review, so, eh, why not? Seems like it'll be a fun romp, but I have also gotten kind of grumpy, impatient, and judgey as I've aged.
And less completist, thank god.
Taking notes on others' recs.
Glad you guys are home safely, Hec, and I'm already sending out smooth vibes for the next round.
Also, my new keyboard is six stops away!
My old one died Tursday, so weird.
The new one is the same brand/type, but with prettier lights, ha!
I recently dropped my Nook and couldn't get a replacement screen so I purchased a Kindle to give it a try. (I hate it) I will get my Nook fixed, but in the meantime, I have to look at all those Kindle deals since I am pretty unfamiliar with the way that all works. My to-read list is long enough for me to be in a rush though.
I have never bothered to buy dedicated Nook or Kindle hardware. Depending on where I am, I use their apps on my laptop or iPad or mobile phone. Works well for me.

Same.
In the past week my aunt, and last relative of that generation, died and my mom's bestie (and sort of an honorary aunt for me) died. I'm a bit sad. They were both in their 80s, long lives well lived and all that. But still.
