Thank you so much David for the updates. And msbelle for keeping us up on Epic.
Yes, thank you. I don't spend much time on FB so I get updates here.
Just got back from the dog park. It was dew covered, which was different. We had rain a few days ago, which was the first time in a very long time. I checked the forecast and they predict rain again on the 10th. And yet, humidity of 95%, so yes I was very sticky by the time I left the park.
Packing up our hotel room.
Hospital at 1pm. Should be done in an hour or so.
Will talk to the concierge to have a cab waiting for us at 3:30 and back to the airport.
So far so good. I expect hotel living will lose it's novelty pretty soon, but I'm glad to have my new laptop, and getting used to a new routine.
Life is weird. None of my expectations about where I would be in five years have come true since I went to college.
We just passed the one year anniversary of home ownership last month.
Keep your receipts. Even if you are not the one footing the bill.

So much this. Going back to my teens. This is likely why I abandoned the notion of expectations decades ago. Now most of my life has been spent as go-with-the-flow girl. There is a certain serenity in this.

I
am
keeping the receipts and they
are
footing the bill.
Front Desk To me: That minibar charge is correct?
Me: Yes.

I can't say I've felt particularly serene lately.
But I am definitely trying to flow.

Oh, my, yes, likewise.

Have you ever suggested an event, contacted people, sent out a Doodle poll, made a reservation at the restaurant, responded to emails about the event and then COMPLETELY FUCKING FORGOT ABOUT IT?!?!?!!? Well, I just did!
Was supposed to have a reunion brunch with a bunch of people that I was really excited to see and just TOTALLY SPACED. Realized when I happened to check Facebook. ARGH!
Same re: five-year... guesses. I have never been a five year goal person, but I think maybe in my twenties to early thirties things pretty much happened as expected. All bets were off after about mid-thirties.
Speaking of which, I took a very light trip to my knees in they parking lot this morning, and my knee and ankle are a little hurty, though I can walk.
I may be abundantly cautious and get an x-ray at OrthoVA tomorrow. At most, I suspect they'd give me a boot or brace, but, you know, I have walked around on a broken ankle for a week without realizing it before, so... there are bad precedents to overcome. Doesn't hurt nearly as much as that time, though.
Went to a UU church service this morning. They were nice. I miss the fellowship of my UMC church from before I moved away from here in the aughts, but, you know, I'm not actually a Christian or, frankly spiritual in any sense really anymore, so I don't go to church. It's kind of a bummer -- they were good, welcoming folks at Central UMC.
ETA: I have thought about doing, "I'm an apostate, but can I come back anyway? I still make a great tuna casserole..." They'd let me in and stealth pray for my return to the fold!
Oh, no, Vortex!!! That is such a weird, crappy feeling. So sorry.
(And, yeah, been there. Back in the day before cell phones, I planned a dinner/movie night and just forgot about it. They all had fun but wondered what the hell happened to me! I don't think anyone was even able to get me on the phone until the next day).
Well, it's a little wierd that 2 people contacted me after it was over.
