Timelies all!
Valentine's Day here is a little haphazard, as we haven't had time to plan anything. So Gary has gone out to pick up take-out from a local Italian restaurant, as delivery would take much longer. We couldn't order from a couple of our favorites, as we had to wait until Gary got home, and they weren't doing online orders by that time. Should be fine.
I'm pondering take-out options now.
I had coffee ice cream with hot fudge for Valentines dinner. It was a good choice.
I’ve joined the local astronomy club, and there was a meeting last night via zoom. The club trends older, so there were some technical hiccups, but things worked out. And there are some group skywatchers coming up that might pry me out of my apartment after dark.
That's cool, Calli!
I bought us a couple of chocolate covered strawberries at Wegman's. They were yum, and that's about our speed for V-day.
Unrelated to Valentine's day, we are going to a nearby "resort" today for a spa day, dinner, and an overnight at the hotel. We decided last week to do it this week just for a quick weekday getaway since we decided against a full-on trip to an island in March because we both have separate trips coming up soon. Should be fun! Coincidental timing to yesterday, though.
But first, water aerobics for me this morning.
Not bad for a Wednesday.

I'm going to imagine you in one of those sixties bathing caps with little psychedelic daisies all over it.
We're waiting for the plumber to fix our shower and sink. The shower is the more complex fix that requires turning off the building water (and NOW I know where the water cutoff valve is! Only 11 months into home ownership. We saw this building for the first time one year ago about now.) But the sink is the bigger problem since we can shower in the garden apartment in the meantime, but our dishes are backing up.
I'm tellin' ya, folks, I was feeling pretty beleaguered when I had to use the plunger on the sink, and forgot about the overflow valve on top of the sink, which shot manky dishwasher into my face.
Third chemo infusion tomorrow, and they continue to tweak (almost said "twerk") the cocktail of drugs. The iron infusion last week was "not well tolerated" so that's off the menu. Trying to find that sweet spot of anti-nausea without lurching into constipation.
In the meantime, we're seeing the beloved JenK today! I haven't seen her since last year, and for JZ it's been longer.
Also anticipating a spring visit from Emily Stuckey who I haven't seen since I helped her pack up to move away from SF lo those many years ago.
In exciting Garden Apartment news it turns out we are NOT within the parameters of the anti-vacancy tax. We thought it was any building with three units with one unit vacant for more than six months. But it's actually any building with three vacant units for more than six months.
So, the Garden Apartment may remain a charming place for us to turn it into a Mid Century Theme Park of design, and, of course, a place for visitors to stay. (Such as Emily. Also, JZ's brother and his family will be coming for long weekend next week.)
When do you have a slot available for me to visit?
That is good news about the garden apartment! Good luck with the plumbing and the infusion, I hope the latest tweaking is well tolerated in the extreme! Twerking optional.

Our bathroom remodel started today and the demo team has just about ripped everything out. We discovered lots of fun leaks we didn't know were happening before! The subfloor under where the toilet used to be is almost black! Hooray!

Twerk! That! Cocktail!

Woo! Fungus among us!
The tub is fixed and Jack the Plumber gave it a happy cheer like the 49ers just scored a touchdown. He was this close to throwing up his arms ala Paul Gross. "Yeah!" Now he's muttering about the sink, but he already improved the water pressure from the faucet by cleaning out gunk in the hose.
Twerk! That! Cocktail!
::shakes chemical booty!::

Still haven't scheduled the rest of this round of chemo, and I have to factor in visits from JZ's mom and Matilda's spring break. That said, as soon as we sort out March/April/May calendar I'll give you some dates.
Tell Jen I say hi, if you get a chance to.
