I livestreamed my uncle's funeral today, in between classes and meetings. While it's great that this technology exists, and it's definitely better than not being there at all, it still feels like a disconnect. But there was just no way I could get to Boston for this without missing at least one day of work and possibly two, and I knew I couldn't get anyone to cover my classes on that short notice.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.

Sheryl, I hope you can all find some peace together.
I’m sorry you lost your uncle, Hil. Much peace to you and your family.
Sheryl, I hope the program is helpful.
Appointment ~ma, Debet.
I like both cheesecake and brownies separately, and I could see them working well together.
I'm sorry for your loss, Hil. Tough to not be there, but yay technology.
Sheryl, may the transition be as smooth as possible for all of you.
Medical~ma, Debet.
Not a cheesecake fan so I'll take all the brownies.
DH picks up his car today!
Ugh. I had a friend bring over takeout last night and I thought I’d eat it for lunch today….and then I left it sitting on the counter overnight. It’s tofu pad Thai but the internet seems convinced it will kill me if I eat it for lunch. Booooo
I would definitely eat that, meara, but I am cavalier about food safety.
I think that tofu is fine. If it were shrimp pad Thai, I’d say no
I would not, but my system seizes on any excuse to throw a tizzy. Which, more than anything else, even though there's plenty of else, killed my high school Peace Corps fantasies. Nobody needs to watch me finish the well then look for another hole to be sick in.
I'd probably microwave it an extra minute just to be sure, but without meat or dairy it should be safe.
Since it’s tofu I concur.
