The whole healthcare system in the US is completely fucked.

109% agree. Got new insurance this year. Tried to refill a prescription, pharmacy called and said they’ll only approve six pills per month not the 9 in my prescription. I don’t actually have a huge problem with that—in theory if I get mine migraines a month I should be on preventives instead. (But I like not having to be super on top of getting more every month, and have plenty of extras to stash in travel kit and purse and so on) But he also wanted to check on the cost, $75 for six pills. I said yeah, I haven’t hit my deductible just yet and that’s fine. But how much would the other three pills be with cash? He looked….and said if I wanted to pay cash all NINE pills would be $30. Wtf I mean that’s far from the worst anything and it’s more ridiculous than awful but good GRIEF. .

Thrive to spite them

Happy Birthdays to Pix and Maria!

David -could some of the protein shake gotten under a counter or in a weird corner or under a chair or something ? I mean I might start looking in the least likely place you think it could have gotten just to be sure. I remember when I was really sick when I had the noro virus and woke up vomiting , I cleaned up the best I could but when I was better and trying to really clean I found that there had been .... i guess splash back in weird places.

I'm still being nibbled to death by ducks. The headset is charged and now has to be paired and I had to download an app for that, ok whatever. And i have to click on an icon and I can't because it won't let me and you have to do that to pair the stupid headset. I sent in a ticket and then went looking for info and found someone who had a similar problem and they got help from support but it took about a week. I am not waiting that long. I'm packing this back up and taking it back to Gamestop and buying something simple that I can just plug in and make work.

ooh I also saw something on a forum where someone was complaining about "boomers" who are 40+ and how they need to get a life. So I see that Boomer is just becoming slang for "old person" but I did pipe up that someone in their early 40s is either a millennial or Gen X.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday Pix! Happy Birthday Maria!

It's a grey, rainy day here and the most dangerous word are in effect: Mr. S is bored.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Yikes, Sheryl. That's a fraught sentence. Vibing for a gentle transition to non-boredom.

Just had a fun couple of rounds SuperBowling with friends (literal bowling - not the game) followed by dinner. Fun times. Good way to finished the weekend. Now I plan to read and go to bed early.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I went for a long training hike in San Bruno this morning with some friends, and when we got back to the car there was a gentleman around my age leaning on his car, looking sweaty and weepy. We asked if he was okay, and he said he had pain from his shoulder down his arm. Which made us all very nervous. We tried to call 911 for him, but he said he had no health insurance and wasn't old enough yet for Medicare. In the end, we got his son's phone number, drove up to the top of the ridge where we got cell coverage, and called the son. Texted him the location where his father was.

I hope he's okay. He really didn't want us to do anything for him but we insisted on giving him aspirin and water and making sure he had someone who knew where he was.
