{{{Aimee}}} Peri-menopause is indeed no fun. I've been dealing with it, which has not helped my mood when dealing with Mr. S.(also not helping with my sleep, as I wake up every day before the alarm)

This supplement has helped me a LOT with hot flashes: [link] It took about 6-8 weeks to really notice an effect, but since then it's been great. (I honestly can't assess whether it's helped with other perimenopausal symptoms like stress and energy level because of the stupid Long Covid, which is chock full of stress and fatigue. No hot flashes, though!)

Relink? Is broken.
My hot flashes and bonus night sweats are getting to be a little too much to tolerate. I've tried to ride it out but I started perimenopause in February of 2010. Thirteen years is too long for this.
From Steph's link: "...contains geniVida, KSM-66 Ashwagandha, DIM, Dong Quai, Black Cohosh."
I dunno about the rest of the ingredients, but several members of my prostate cancer support group have reported getting some relief from hot flashes by taking black cohosh.
On the other hand, some have reported no benefit at all.
I haven't tried it, myself.
Thirteen years is too long for this.
Good lord. Yes, that is too long!
For anyone wanting to try the Monday faux hooch, they're currently having a sale on bundles. I've just ordered the gin and whiskey for Jim and I. I shall report back!
Y’all. tiktok has ruined me. I was at a happy hour tonight and this woman said what she does by saying “I’m an accountant” and I immediately was like “…like a real one or like a tiktok accountant” because that’s all I could hear when she said it like that!! She had no idea what I was talking about and is a real accountant.
I remember black cohosh from when I was into witchy herbal stuff, and it was recommended for “women’s concerns”. It would be cool if they were actually onto something.
I went through menopause when I was caring for my dying dad, so my doctor just put me on an antidepressant/anti anxiety med combo, and that got me through. Sometimes I miss Xanax. But my family has a history of addiction, so after all the everything I talked to my doctor and went off it. I’ve gotta say, being post menopausal is fabulous! In my last big clean I realized the period supplies under the sink were 10 years old, and I tossed them. No cramps, no hormonal fluctuations, and if I was having heterosexual sex, there’d be no pregnancy scares. 10/10, definitely recommend.
I had a hysterectomy and oophorectomy at 38 because of uterine cancer, so it's been a long while... haven't missed it a bit and the transition was shockingly easy. But my mom had it very easy with her natural menopause, too, so, heredity, I guess.
Plus, no side effects that aren't easily handled, so I've been lucky. Very lucky.
Waiting for a mammogram right now. Routine, so I'd like that to continue. Then lunch with my aunt and cousin at noon. And a couple of meetings and some work.
Then... weekend!
