I stayed up until this morning, cleaning and life-prepping. Beginning as I will be going on with 2023.

Made Hoppin' John with faro, my new favorite grain. And then had a surprise client appointment that was a total delight.

This New Year was the epitome of quiet and [channeling Sybil Ramkin] a quiet joy, avec no stressing at all.

I really could get used to this.

The beginning of 2023 bears the good news/bad news of letting go of lots of friendships that I am sad to see go, but also understand the partings as being evolution in action.

I look forward to DSD (doing something different) in all areas of my life and I'm wishing each and every one of you a moving forward that happens exactly as you choose.

Now, I'm off to cook up a mess of collard greens and possibly weilding my Uproot some more. I really am obsessed.

The party went very well. The house is clean and I have enough food leftover for a small army if anyone wants to stop by.

Our wings are not tired.

Yay, that’s great SJ!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy New Year! Happy Birthday Susan W!

Unfortunately 2023 has started the same way 2022 ended: with Mr. S out of control. sigh....

Awesome, sj!

That sounds delightful, bonny.

I'm sorry to hear that, Sheryl.

We are watching Glass Onion tonight, because Jess remined me to. Thank you.

We were going to go see lights at the botanical garden tonight, but Matt is not feeling well (nothing seriously wrong), so we're ordering in instead and watching the movie. Totally good with that!

Coding and Sleeping

We watched Glass Onion not too long ago and enjoyed it. I like the original Knives Out a little better, but my wife liked Glass Onion a little better.

At the new house in Minnesota. Had to do a lot of shoveling the first few days. Still unpacking and setting up.

Oh my YUM. The collard greens and Hoppin' John this year are the best batch evah. MmMmMm.

Glass Onion did not grab me at first, but it ended up being so twisty and turny. It will sound like sacrilege, I'm sure, but I enjoyed the Tiffany Haddish series, "The Afterparty", which is Glass Onion with a fraction of a fraction of the budget, more.

Our wings are not tired.

Sounds like a perfect start to a new year, beekaytee.

Great to hear, sj. Are you all feeling better? I'd stop by for leftovers if we could finally get the transporter functional.

{{Sheryl}} May this be the year that Mr S learns self control. I'm exhausted for you.

Not that interested in Glass Onion because I didn't enjoy Knives, but I don't recall why. DH thinks I was just in a mood when we watched it. Hmmm.

How are you enjoying the new house and location, Gud? I hope you are making more progress in unpacking and setting up than we are here.

Started the new year with a nice walk on the beach and swim. The surf temperature here is ridiculously warm for January, 78! At this rate hurricane season is going to be year round.

We are all finally healthy here. knock on wood

Teacup goes back to school on Tuesday and TCG goes back to work the same day. Meanwhile, I start with a new therapist tomorrow because my old therapist left the practice.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Glad to hear you're settled into MN, Gud!

I preferred Knives Out to Glass Onion, though that may partially be the casts. But White Lotus covered a similar sort of vibe and better for me.

I'm enjoying the re-watch of Wednesday. It really is a Dark Academia Hogwarts story and I'm down for that.
