Sweet lumpy minion, you're the only one that understands. Probably 'cause I haven't sucked the brain out of you yet.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

No response yet from the emails I sent to my point person last night, but it’s still early. If I don’t get a favorable response, what is my next step?

The light switch for the light over our kitchen table (which isn’t in our kitchen) is now broken. It was working last night, but I still feel like blaming the cleaners at least in my head.

Suzi, Christmas sounds lovely.

sj, I'd say that depends on the response, but you do always have the disputed charge route. Hoping they are reasonable instead.

I spoke to the point person just now and got the total runaround. Essentially they can’t imagine what would have gotten on ltc’s sheets they don’t have anything that smells like that. She couldn’t send 4 people out because I had to reschedule because of ltc and I having the flu and they didn’t have the man power. But if they had sent more people it would have been for less time because the estimate was based on man hours. And they went over the man hours already, and they weren’t going to charge me for the extra hours. These are her best people and she never gets any complaints about them. Essentially my house was just too dirty for them to handle in one day. She did offer to send out another crew to “touch up the missed spots”. She is going to try to come by this afternoon to smell and look at the bedding pieces that have not been washed yet to see what it could possibly be.

So I got a lot of corporate speak and run around, and I doubt I will be getting any money back without a serious fight. Which honestly I do not have in me at this moment.

What is even happening?

I'm sorry, Hec and JZ.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

This is CYA for "Oh we fucked up big but we'd better not let the client know that"

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Up early, checked in with my boss on the state of the Dilaudid, and he'll backchannel my PMD as soon as he gets in. It really does seem like just a miscommunication; she's been so responsive up to just exactly now. All I can think is that I *did* have a momentary bad-pain glitch yesterday and panicked that I might need the dosage adjusted yet again, and emailed her about it. Since then, I tried the anti-nausea and anti-anxiety meds and the bad-pain glitch magically went away. It's almost as if no longer being wound up in anxiety and pukeyness can lead a person to just feeling better in general. Who'd'a thought?

So then I sent a follow-up message that I think I'm actually fine on the current dose, I just need it sent to Walgreens instead of the crappy we-won't-have-it-in-stock-until-Saturday-but-we-don't-wanna-anyway pharmacy. Which, based on 30 years of observation of work people reading work emails, may have been one piece of information too many. Sigh.

Punishingly Intricate

Ugh, JZ, I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this on top of, you know, the cancer.

I’m so sorry you have to deal with all of this JZ. I hope the pain doesn’t get too bad before you are able to get your refill.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We're down to our last two pills which will be administered at 11:30. And after that I have nothing lined up as of this moment.

JZ is more sanguine than I that if you're reasonable and patient the system will do what it's supposed to do.

In my very recent experience not one single thing that needed to happen occurred in its proper time and place without a boss intervening or a nurse stepping outside of the protocol including: being admitted to the ER, getting the CT which discovered the cancer, getting the biopsy, being discharged, getting the meds, or refilling the meds.
