Oh man, David, all of that is infuriating.
sj, I don't think it has to be a confrontation, just factual -- you paid for X people for X hours, you got X/2 people, so you should pay less.

I also wish sometimes we could trade. Like, I could call up sj’s folks no problem, but I have been avoiding confrontation from Gwynie Bee and just paying then $8.99 a month for nothing because they do not allow you to cancel online, just pause.
So what recourse do I have if I authorized payment the night before the cleaning? Keeping in mind that I am confrontation avoidant for the most part.
You authorized payment for 3-4 people for whatever number of hours. Sending two is basically fraud and not what you both agreed to when you authorized payment.
Their easiest way to make it right is a free cleaning if you are willing to continue using them (and it's annedata but I had a good experience once they fixed the tub) or they can send people to finish the job you paid for previously.
It sucks but you have to call them. If they won't fix it, the next call is to corporate. Honestly if you plan you use them monthly, it's in their interest to keep your business.
Timelies all!
I'm sorry you getting all this stress, David.
Yes, what Jesse said, absolutely. They qouted you for four, they sent two. It's just math.
Also, you can dispute the charge with your bank if they don't make it right. Longer path, though, so I wouldn't start there.
I have sent off an email with a bunch of photos of things left uncleaned as well as my list of things that were not done to my contact person. I’m sure she’s gone home for the day. So, we’ll see what happens with that. This crappy year and crappy month can end anytime now.
Hec and JZ, I'm sorry for the opioid difficulties. I hope you get the medication without further fuckery.
But I can't just trust that's going to happen now because literally every time I've tried to pick up any opiate there are nine extra unanticipated hoops to jump through, multiple trips back to the pharmacy to pick up one order and nervous nurses and pharmacists who are being blamed for the opioid crisis, and the Sacklers are somehow roaming around free.
Every damned time my mother got opioids, or changed opioids, or got more opioids, we went through this too. The last time, I broke into tears and said not at all quietly (I didn't yell, but no hushed tones), "This is an 86 year-old woman with two broken vertebrae and she is in agony. I'm not leaving without the meds," then I sat down in a chair in front of the pharmacy, and stared at them.
The number of cleaners was not in the contract I signed. No number is mentioned at all. It was simply part of the discussion when had when getting my original quote.
That's all right, sj. You can still cite it. I'm sorry this happened to you. I think Cass is exactly right about all of this. They did an unsatisfactory job. They now claim that's because the session wasn't long enough, but they sent half as many people as they told you they would when they gave you the quote.
Yeah, you didn't hire them to half-clean your house. They need to make it right by either finishing the job or giving you money back.
