Thrive to spite them

Happy Birthdays to everyone!!

M's sister had pillows made from their father's old shirts and gave them to her brothers for Christmas a few years ago. It's a really nice present.

I need to make a list of passwords and info, I have a lot of it saved but I need to get that out there just in case. I also need to make sure he knows to make an announcement on FB if anything happens or message someone so they can post here. I need to find out what I should do if something happens to him.

There were a few tears, including from me.

Seconded

I am hearing everyone on the password, will, glowy box contacts in case if emergency lists. I was just saying that it was going to be a light work-work week, so I declare that I shall do all those things this week.. or start the process, anyway.

Driving home now about two hours to go. Perfectly pleasant, though. I'm not the one driving, obviously.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Also, my beloved Buffista singletons, please have a dedicated offline in-person friend or family contact for us so we can check in.

Seconded.

If you don't have one and something happens, you will. Buffistas are resourceful. I am thankful for that because I don't even remember the last week of Dec 2020 and first few days of Jan 2021 when I was hospitalized post-Covid with dangerously low levels of salt in my blood.

I am far more cognizant of letting/even encouraging my worlds intermingle now. If no one hears from you, at least an exchange of emails is extremely helpful. Also update emergency contacts at work if needed. Mom was still my only listed contact after she died so the coworkers who called for an ambulance for me had no way of contacting my family or friends.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

along with "remodel the damn back bathroom so it's fully usable again" and "write our damn wills already I can't believe we put it off this long."

We have both of these onerous tasks awaiting us, along with "buy a damn car" and "buy a damn couch."

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Happy birthday, Theodosia and Jesse!

I’m back home from Michigan. The cats seem happy about it. I’m ambivalent.

Dear everyone I hope you have good birthdays and don’t get covid and get your hot water/heat/internet back!! We had a couple of lovely warm days here but now are heading back to “not actually warm enough for the pool but still better than seattle”. Not sure what I’m doing tomorrow though, because the two different couples are apparently both going on hikes and I am not invited/don’t want to go, so…hm.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Happy Birthdays Jesse and Theo, and safe journeys and stable utilities to everyone.

Suzi, it's good to see you here--you've been missed. What's been going on with you?

Pix, I hope you get seen and treated and well on your way to healed before your trip.

DH has numbers of Buffistas he's met and he will contact them if something should happen to me.

Parker and her DH came by and we had a nice visit. DH made waffles for lunch, and stayed behind while Parker, her DH and I did a bit of shopping. They headed home after and managed to make it before the deluge hit here--I hope they missed it all the way.

I plan to sleep in and slounge around and read tomorrow. And we've decided to watch LoTR--the extended cuts--before New Year's Day, so we may start that tomorrow night.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Piggybacking on this discussion, the Google doc of Buffista addresses and contact info has a space for emergency contact. You can contact me or jenp or a few others ( please remind me who) to check if your info is up to date.

Our wings are not tired.

Today we celebrate amyparker! Happy birthday! I hope you are being spoiled and celebrated appropriately. May this be a spectacular year.

Suzi, it's good to see you here--you've been missed. What's been going on with you?

Yes! What's up? Yes, please tell us about the grandbaby.

I have hot water again! DH crawled around to see about changing the element and saw the reset was popped. Easy peasy!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Heating~ma to all y'all! And your poor grandmother, aurelia, I hope the salvage is successful.

the Google doc of Buffista addresses and contact info has a space for emergency contact.

Oh! That should be easy enough.
