I'm late to the party! Blame it on the carb coma from yesterday.
Happiest birthday wishes to Jesse! I hope you are spoiled today, as you deserve, and that the year to come is filled with unanticipated delights!
Now I have to scroll back and catch up...
Happy birthday wishes to Theodosia! I hope the day is joyful and that the year to come brings all good things!
Merry Christmas, a touch late. Ma~ to all in need and I saw that congrats are due to Jess. Happy Birthday Theodosia!
Happy Birthday Theodosia!
Happy Birthday Jesse! I hope you don't get Covid (hey, a person can dream).
I lurked for a while, jotting post numbers on scrap paper so I could find my place in threads
I did the same thing!
I lurked for a very long time and when I finally delurked my first tagline was sophia talking about the wolf pack: “I was surprised when they ate the pig, but I was SHOCKED when they ate the principal.”
Happy birthday, Theo!
I hope you don't get Covid (hey, a person can dream).
It is true she's been sick since last Tuesday (tested neg on Tues, didn't test again until Friday), and I'm ok so far, so maybe I really am magically immune???
Happy Birthday Theodosia!
Happy Birthday Jesse!
Enjoyed the various trips down memory lane posts. I joined shortly after 9/11 when I was seeking distraction on the internet. No lurking, because I didn't know any better! I found Spike's Bitches first and didn't venture into Natter because it was too fast and I couldn't keep up at all.
Hell’s bells, Cass, I’m about ready to crawl out of my sickbed and strangle your S-I-L myself. WTF is wrong with her?
Seriously, I'll volunteer to hold her down.
Christmas was a lot of food!! Way too much food. My SIL has a nail salon and brought too many fancy treats that clients had left for them. Just exhausted today.

Here's hoping.
On Christmas Eve my grandmother (and all the neighbors in her wing) had to be evacuated from their apartments because of a burst sprinkler pipe. It sounds like her place got the worst of it. My uncle showed up to visit during the chaos and took her home with him. So she is clothed, fed, and cared for by family, but I'm sure she feels hopeless and helpless. She couldn't keep any food down that night.
I haven't heard any updates since then, but my uncle had been in contact with the building manager and I think my brother is going to call my uncle and see if he can get in to try to salvage photos and her genealogy files. We're concerned that any remediation company will just throw everything in a dumpster.
