information libertarian

My sister came last night and gave Casper the gift/loan of a corset from Etsy and some chemises, a petticoat, and assless pantalettes she’d sewn, and Casper was in heaven. Which reminded me that sometimes I feel like I should ship Casper off to Holli for a couple of weeks so she can see the kind of person she could grow into (not into college, likes to make tiny precise things, currently wants to sew a kirtle).

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We've been trying to keep Mr. S occupied today and it's been a struggle. At least some stuff will be open tomorrow.

Thrive to spite them

The turkey seems to be done! And it looks good. So far all I've heard from M's mom is "at least it's not dry" as she has picked at it since we aren't ready to eat yet. And also suddenly close to the end of the whole cooking says "make sure you make enough for R" (a friend of hers she is going to take a plate to). There is plenty of food but maybe it's something she could have mentioned, I dunno, this morning.

Anyway right now we are waiting for the biscuits to finish (they are frozen ones) and green beans to be done. And for dessert I had a Apple Frangipane tart from Aldi I got a while back so I baked it last night and I'll just have to maybe warm it up today.

It hasn't really felt like Christmas at all this year for me or even Thanksgiving. I'm hoping next year it will feel more like it.

I think I joined on Table Talk in 2001, after first joining that site for discussion about reality shows like Big Brother and Survivor. I believe I knew ita from the TT "Miss Cleo, Call Me Now!" thread before discovering she was also a Buffista.

Aww hello to your sister flea, and adorable the wish to intro Casper and Holli.

It’s very lovely here and I wish my sister was here but am glad I’m not visiting my family now!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

So we are hopefully in the last hour of the turkey cooking.

We were right there with you but beef. God, I just either want to be in charge or the food or not involved and neither happen. "Let's just eat our salad and side dishes." Um, let's either wait for le cow to be warm. It's another twenty minutes.

Oh - vent time - so the no-longer-youngest twins are 16 and the girl is in treatment for an eating disorder. Totally proud of her. Recovery is hard. My S-i-L keeps telling her that she looks great. KNOWING SHE HAS AN EATING DISORDER, IS IN TREATMENT AND IS DANGEROUSLY THIN.

My S-i-L who when I lost a bunch of weight also kept telling me how great it was even though I flatly told her that I was nearly losing my mind and was in a bad head place. "Well, you look great." Thanks, trying not to lose my mind and I'm kinda scared that I'm losing that battle. "But you look good." Super positive.

It's bad enough that was her go-to for at least a year with me but, damn, saying that to a kid who is trying to get better and you know she's in treatment? Let's support her getting better. And she doesn't look good, she looks severely anorexic.

The niece is ready to rip off her other aunt's head. "She's so pro-ana." Yeah, that's accurate unfortunately.

Vent over.

This is the S-i-L who thinks the family-friendly Cards Against Humanity is too vulgar. But she's cool with advocating for anorexia.

Okay, now I'm done. I just can't say it elsewhere.

Okay, that's off my chest. Otherwise, it was a lovely day.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Hell’s bells, Cass, I’m about ready to crawl out of my sickbed and strangle your S-I-L myself. WTF is wrong with her?

I like the way you are thinking. Fuck cancer but also fuck Karen? Yes, her name is Karen.

WTF is wrong with her?

So. Much.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Damn, Karen.

My takeaway is that most everyone who is still posting here has been posting for 22 years, and that is amazing!

That is amazing!

Which reminded me that sometimes I feel like I should ship Casper off to Holli for a couple of weeks so she can see the kind of person she could grow into (not into college, likes to make tiny precise things, currently wants to sew a kirtle).

I love that idea!

I'm currently waiting to get covid, since my mother has it and we haven't been isolating, so I am trying to get as much done today as possible. I can't believe we made it this long!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.
