I did make the pancakes, and they are deLISHous, so I'm calling it a win.
Also good as waffles. IJS.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I did not go back to the craft show, or go to the pool, but I did make the pancakes, and they are deLISHous, so I'm calling it a win.
Pumpkin Pancake PJ Winner of the day!
Spent the morning cleaning up the Drinky Parlor and moving furniture for the arrival of the Art Nouveau Cabinet (which is actually a wet bar and liquor cabinet). It arrived promptly but a few things need fixin' before we can use it so I've got a call into our contractor to bring his Gorilla glue and clamps.
JZ then waved her magic Interior Design wand and rearranged furniture and hung up pictures and put out Cool Things. (We've always had Cool Things but now we can display them in the Lily & Vivian Charles Drinking Parlor).
Didn't run this morning (and I usually don't on the weekend anyway) so I walked the Panhandle and swung by my comic shop and talked to Zoey, where we were both a bit nostalgic for San Francisco's print pornography Adult Bookstores and sleazy magazine stands. Then I told her about all the Jimmy Olsen comics where he crossdresses, and we discussed the cultural frisson of that kind of thing and seeking representation where there was none in the mainstream culture.
Matilda announced she was "going out" after lunch which means she's meeting up with her beau. They're probably off canoodling by the baseball fields and eating junk food.
Also good as waffles. IJS.
Might be time to get a waffle maker.
OK, I productived by finishing cleaning the kitchen.
The best desk I ever had was a door on top of two filing cabinets. Miles of space. And the doorknob hole is convenient for cords.
My best ever desk is the one I'm at now, an antique I inherited from my Great Aunt Mable. Hand-carved wood, bronze drawer pulls, curvy glass top.
I passed on the house I saw today. Loved the living room + dining room + kitchen + master bedroom, meh about the second bedroom and pantry, hated the third bedroom/bonus room/random mismatched add-on space, bathroom, laundry room, and assorted closets. Also hated the decrepit garage/shop, the back yard, and the possibility of the Leaning Tree of Pears falling over onto the house during a storm. The bathroom was really the kill switch though, there was only one and the toilet would have had to be replaced immediately, not later on.
Laura, you've probably found this already, but I think, if you are moving yourself, and have homeowner's (or, in my case, renter's) insurance, you do not need a Certificate of Insurance.
The condo board may need proof of insurance, but the COI is specifically for third party vendors who cannot otherwise be held accountable for damages to a property.
As the resident/owner, they know where you live, so to speak, liability-wise.
Thanks, beekaytee! Brendon is going to talk to them tomorrow and make sure we are all on the same page.
Brendon has also decided that he must come and help me move south again. He wants to grab some of the stuff we brought up here that won't fit in my car. So round trip drive for him of ~3000 miles. He also wants to deal with construction in progress and winterize the boat and house and so forth.
It's a quiet Monday in here.
I’ve been working on a 5-10 minute presentation for my interview on Wednesday. Right now it’s looking closer to 15. At least I feel like I can speak to the proposed topic.
Sending the interview~ma in advance. It sounds like you are very comfortable with the expectations.
DH isn't coming until the 31st so it will be a chilly couple of weeks here. I got my most recent electric bill today, and, Yikes! The thing I need to call them about is that it says 'Non Heat', which indicates to me that they have a different system for people who heat with electric. Umm, I didn't go from ~600 kWh over the summer to over 2,400 kWh if I wasn't using my electric to heat this place. So, maybe a credit can happen? Anyway, if it is a choice of freezing my butt off or paying a bunch for warmth, then I know my decision. Hopefully the place will be insulated better by next year which will make a big difference. That said, it was 31 outside when I went to the gym yesterday morning. eta: still likely better than the people heating with oil
