Happy birthday, Jen! Looks like you're off to a fine and mellow start.
JZ is super psyched to go perform at RenFaire this weekend as a substitute Puritan. Scolding people in period diction is in her blood.
She hasn't gotten to do Faire even on a pinch hit basis for about five years, I think.
Matilda is going to a Homecoming dance in Pleasanton tomorrow night. It is my unpleasant(on) task to collect her from far suburbia at midnight. (Matilda's school doesn't have homecoming. Her beau's old school, however, does and they're going with his friends.)
Tim’s surgery got moved up by about an hour, so it is already over and went very well! Everything went smoothly and I should be able to see him in about an hour. Assuming recovery goes well (and it should), he’ll be home some time Monday. Yay!
Some news finally!
Edit: GOOD news, I meant! Phew.
Awesome news, Steph.
Aw, Homecoming. Yay.
I would got.to Ren Faire JUST to stalk JZ as she performs. Joy! (I mean, I'd go anyway, but...)
Woohoo successful surgery!
Work is irritating me and leaving me with not enough brain to respond to anything else, sorry! I am thinking appropriate thoughts as I lurk but typing them out is too hard
And I'm going to post this separately.
So, Drew did commit suicide. He shot himself in the head in Golden Gate Park on Tuesday morning. His wife, Raquel, had asked for a divorce. He'd been dealing with the suicidal ideation for a long time. Five years ago he'd been hospitalized on suicide watch. He killed himself at the exact spot he'd told her he would kill himself. (Not something he was using as guilt ploy during the separation. Something he told her years ago during the earlier crisis.)
Leaves behind four kids, and a huge blast radius of emotional wreckage.
I would got.to Ren Faire JUST to stalk JZ as she performs.
I would totes join you for that.
Yay for Tim's surgical fix and impending release! I hope you are better able to rest tonight.
David, that is just so sad. The challenges in dealing with mental heath issues are just overwhelming. Also, losing someone to suicide is a totally different type of grief than a loss to accident or illness. Well, it is a loss to illness, but yeah, the grief is different.
