David, that is just so sad. The challenges in dealing with mental heath issues are just overwhelming. Also, losing someone to suicide is a totally different type of grief than a loss to accident or illness. Well, it is a loss to illness, but yeah, the grief is different.

I’m glad the surgery is over with, Steph.

When he finally got up to his room at 7:30 p.m., he hadn't eaten anything since midnight last night, and called the food service to order dinner. You can get breakfast all day, so this is what he ordered for dinner: (1) egg & cheese breakfast burrito, (2) english muffin with butter and jam, (3) banana, (4) side order of green beans, and (5) strawberry shortcake with (6) strawberry ice cream. I wanted to stay long enough to see that order, but I was starving as well and came home for a bowl of granola and a banana. I told him to take a picture of his giant meal -- I hope he remembers (he's been off his ADD meds all week and his brain is all over the place).

I am relieved and happy and exhausted and I am going to collapse into bed as soon as I finish this granola and banana.

Great news about Tim; I hope he enjoyed his feast.

David, that's so heartbreaking on every level. The unimaginable pain be must have carried and everyone who loved and lost him and the grief that they will carry now. So sorry.

Also, Tim’s meal sounds very much like what I was wanting when I broke my fast on Wednesday (which was essentially All the Food definitely including an Everything Bagel and as many hydrating beverages as are legally allowed. I actually consumed a bit less than that, but it’s what I wanted and strawberry shortcake with strawberry ice cream would surely have helped)
