Glad the party was good, ltc. Sorry the park was less good.
I hope the move goes as smoothly as possible, msbelle, and that mac does indeed take this opportunity to figure some things out.
My fitbit just buzzed at me the same moment that someone else's phone rang. Just a coincidence, but unsettling. Commute went smoothly today, I even had a no wait connection from my intercity express to the local that I don't usually take because I'd rather walk than wait, so that was nice. Gave the gas station/convenience store that is next door to work a try for breakfast - the clerk was soooo nice but the food on offer was, even by gas station standard, not very tempting. In an emergency, though, it's good to know it's an option, at least.
Little miss social butterfly will have no problems making new friends.
That sounds right! I hope you get to know the parents over time and that goes OK.
After 20 days of no communication, mac texted last night and he is ready to take me up on my offer to move in with me to save money and figure some things out.
I hope he does figure some things out. Good luck getting everything sorted.
msbelle, Mac is fortunate to have you. Best of luck with all of this, and with him finding a healthy way forward.
Timelies all!
Good luck with all the logistics, msbelle.
Y’all. My 5:00 bus never came and the next one that showed up was going out of service so I waited an hour and a half at the transit center. At least it was pleasant weather. So I stopped at one of the only restaurants on the way home that is open on Tuesdays and ordered the “special” Chardonnay and the market price fish because I’m so hungry and that was easy. It is all quite delicious. Glad I am wfh tomorrow.
Trying to remember what the polite way to butter bread is. Tear of a small piece and butter that, right? I doubt the waitress or the one other person eating care, but I am making an effort.
but I am making an effort.
I'll make you a little placard that says, "I'm not feral."
That would be helpful! If possibly misleading. I’m pretty feral. Less so now that I’ve eaten, probably.
I do not recall the appropriate way to butter bread, but I did get the Bonne Maman jam advent calendar and am going to start it soon (since as a single person I can’t eat a tiny jam every day for 24 days!). AND I have volunteered to put together a butter tasting (taste off?) for a friend. Testing a bunch of different butters.
I miss the Danish butter we had in Germany. There was some embargo or something on US butter so the commissary stocked it from Denmark. When someone says "sweet butter" as opposed to salt butter--Danish butter is actually so light and fresh it's almost sweet.
In public I break bread in half to butter it--a roll or biscuit, separate top from bottom, and I butter each so the butter melts and soaks in. Toast, if it isn't cut, I cut or tear in half and butter each half, again while the toast is warm so the butter melts in. If that's uncouth, then so be it. I like my butter melty.
