Today is a day of celebration as we send happy birthday wishes to lisah! May this day and the year to come be filled with joy and laughter.
Now I want Greek mac n cheese for breakfast.
It is wonderful to see Matilda blossoming into such an incredible young woman. Chip off the old blocks that one is. I wish there was some magical way to get the wee ones to sleep at a reasonable hour to give the parental units time to relax and unwind. I think my grandparents endorsed a bit of whiskey. If I recall correctly I resorted to a strawberry milk with melatonin and Benadryl on occasion when they complained of not being able to sleep.
Yay for intellectual ferocity. It’s been a joy virtually watching Matilda grow up.
I need to tell someone how perfect my steel-cut oatmeal is this morning.
You know how cats and dogs stick their faces in jars trying to get all of the good stuff? That's me right now.
Perfect oatmeal is indeed a good way to start the day.
Nice! I discovered steel cut oats way too late in life. A lot of my mornings could've been way better, is what I'm saying.
(I prefer rolled oats to steel cut. Not worth the extra cost, IMHO)
I also prefer rolled oats, generally, but congrats, Dana! A perfect breakfast is a thing of beauty.
I like the texture of rolled oats better than steel cut oats, but if someone made me steel cut oats I wouldn't turn them down.
Today's mystery: why is the cat walking around yodeling mournfully? The reasons could include (but are not limited to): he is a cat, he saw a bug he can't get, he saw another cat outside, he expected to see another cat outside but there was no cat, he ate all his wet food and now it is gone, 11:15 a.m. is yodeling time, no apparent reason, and he knows it drives me nuts when he yodels for no apparent reason.
