I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds great, Tep!

IT is giving up until Monday. Bah. I’m going to lie down and read for a while.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Oh! Plus black figs are back at Trader Joe's, so I'm going to roast some with goat cheese and a little balsamic vinegar. Is it dinnertime yet?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

This has not been a great trip for us. Mr. S has not had a good night yet, and poor Gary hasn’t gotten to see much of the con. It doesn’t help that Mr. S woke up at 6:30 this morning.

The guy arrested for attacking Rushdie has pled not guilty. Seems strange if this was fatwa thing, but I could be thinking about it all wrong. All this violence because of The Satanic Verses has always been so hard for me to understand, it seemed like a pretty mild book when I read it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Good morning, Buffistae! Welcome to Sunday.

I hope yours is proceeding in a lazy fashion.

I made omelettes for JZ and myself, and Matilda is sleeping in.

Matilda has exactly three more days of summer before she starts her junior year of high school, and she was at a bonfire last night. So she's getting her summer's worth.

Nice!

I've gotten a pedicure so far.

The friend I was supposed to have dinner with asked to reschedule, which actually worked out great, because I want to get some work done... and, also, she was at the game night last night, so now we can have some happenings before we get together for dinner to catch up, ha.

So beautiful here this weekend. Miraculous for August in this area.

Thrive to spite them

I'm glad Matilda has had a good summer. I hope her junior year is a wonderful one.

I kinda slept in, ended up making scrambled eggs & a hash for us for breakfast. M's mom went to church so we had the house to ourselves for a few hours.

Watched the kitties outside, Scrappy & Cheeto played together (no growling that I could hear and no fur or tails up...just 2 cats pouncing and tussling with each other).

I've been feeling frustrated because I have this amazing desk and haven't felt like doing much except put things in it. But yesterday after work I went to the Creative Reuse Center, they were supposed to be getting some really nice , high end art products in and I wanted to just look at them. I ended up buying a pound and a half of nice copy paper (like resume quality) to use for geli printing, some Better Homes & Garden magazines from the 70s , and these craft paints that said they are acrylic craft paints that do a water color effect and it was $7. The paint is interesting , didn't paint with it but I did use it for gelli printing. Adding the water makes the pages curl up and I need to figure out some kind of drying situation for all the pages I can churn out. You just put some paint on the plate, roll it around , lay paper down, it's very ....soothing. I'll post pictures on FB later.

That was not what I meant to do , I meant to make a little art journal...using paper I have for the signature and using greeting card for the cover---gluing a print to cover up whatever the actual card says. Once my new prints dry I'll try to do that.

I was going to cut out images from the Better Homes and Garden for collage but I may just leave them intact.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

ltc has a little over two weeks left. In that time she has a birthday party, a week of dance camp, and an overnight with each set of grandparents. The summer flew by! I’m glad Matilda had a good one.

I’m spending my lazy Sunday reading the magazines I didn’t finish reading while we were in Cape Cod while TCG is playing outside with ltc. I plan on taking a long bath later.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We're about to take Pickles back to Animal Control. They'll make a note to her file that she'd be better placed as a solo guinea pig.

But it is disappointing and a little sad. We feel like we let her down in some way.

Even though she flat out wants to murder Prubs.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I just booked tickets to spend a week in the Berkshires visiting two very old friends. One is my best friend from college in the 70s and thereafter, and the other who I became friends with in NYC in the 90s. Looking forward to hanging out with them. Cool women hanging out in a rural setting, should be fab!
