I'm all up in the law now, but damn it feels good to get my violence on.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

At the airport. There are a few more people here wearing masks than at the grocery store, I guess.

I still don't understand people.

Our wings are not tired.

People cannot be understood.

Sitting waiting for AG Garland to say what he has to say. I generally never watch tv live, but making an exception.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

It’s been interesting so far. I did most of the driving yesterday, so Gary could sit in the back with Mr. S. Things were going reasonably well in the morning, and for a bit after lunch. We stopped at the Corning Glass Museum, where we saw glass-blowing and glass-breaking exhibits. Didn’t see much else, as Mr. S was bored and insisted on us buying him a not-terribly cheap ring. Then the GPS sent us to Buffalo via farm country, with no food options for dinner. This was when Mr. S started in with the violent aggression. We had to pull over a couple of times before we got to our hotel and the McDonald’s next to it. After dinner, more meltdowns and I went to sit in the lobby until small boy was asleep.

Today we went to Niagara Falls. We rode the Maid of the Mists(and Wonderfalls did come to mind), had lunch and went to the Aquarium. Came back here and now Gary and Mr. S are at the pool.

Maid of the Mists is such a wonderous ride! I hope tonight and the rest of the trip goes well.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Garland just threw down the fucking gauntlet. love it.

One comment I heard was that Garland was playing chess while Trump plays checkers. Yep. It is tough to be patient, but I am confident that Garland will act when he has an open and shut case.

Because books.

Hello, wonderful Buffistas!

Also, I am about to start my 26th year in the classroom. OMGWTFHOW

Okay, NO. I am willing to accept Gud's daughter is married and ltc is 7 (?!) but there is NO WAY you are old enough to have taught for 26 years. (In other words, damn, girl, you look good.)

Even though I haven't been posting, I have been trying to keep up with what's going on with all of you. Love and hugs and outrage all around, for whoever wants or needs it.

Laura, I continue to be baffled by your younger son's behavior. I just fundamentally don't get it, especially when the two of them were living with you and Brendan so happily for a while. You're in my heart.

Garland just threw down the fucking gauntlet. love it.

I know I'm revealing how dumb I can be about politics, and it's not that I don't want the warrant unsealed, but on what grounds does that get to be requested? Because Trump is a public figure? Because he is a former president? Because it's possibly national security and/or treason?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I suspect that the warrant was sealed prior to execution for confidentiality purposes. If Trump had not tweeted that the FBI "raided" Mar-a-Lago, we wouldn't know.

Unsealing the warrant also unseals the grounds for obtaining the warrant, which means that all of the evidence of Trump's misdeeds will be public if the warrant is unsealed. However, Trump can request that the warrant remain sealed, but then he will have to answer the question of what he has to hide.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Expertise is sexy, ijs.

Because Trump was visited by the FBI's counterintelligence chief in June trying to get this stuff back, it looks like Trump has shit that he's showing to the Russians at Mar A Lago, with the latest implication being high level nuclear weapon info.

Not that his base cares, but Russia's greatest asset is still betraying his country.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

That's a college prof thing. K-12 teachers don't get sabbaticals, alas.

Toronto public schools have/had a program where you could choose to have 80% pay for four years and take the fifth as a sabbatical paid with the withheld funds and maintain benefits and tenure. I knew a few people who did that. Not feasible for everyone but in a system that pays reasonably it always sounded so cool.
