Well, DH made a deal on the apartment for the next year so we can put aside the boat and/or house purchase project for a while. The market is just too nuts. Anyway, this is the place. (listing from when it was for sale at some point in time) It is just a block from the beach on A1A, 5th floor with huge balconies, like plenty of room to work and eat outdoors. Glad to have this off the list for a bit, and happy to get poor Brendon out of his brother's spare room. It would be fine if it was just the guys being all bachelor pad zone, but SIL has a serious cleaning phobia thing going on that is pretty stressful. So linky - [link]

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I have to say, the video of Josh Hawley running away, and the internet's meme-ifying of it, is making me smile this morning.
That seemed pretty devastating given the current GOP base.
Glad y'all have a place to live, Laura! And time to find the right boat or house or whatever.
Yay having a place to live Laura!
I have to go look up this video of him running away. I did see someone post a pic of a mug from him and said it needs a lid for when you’re running.
Also, apparently my dad lost his hearing yesterday??? My mother emailed us (my siblings and my dad’s) to say he’s suddenly gone deaf. He already only had one working ear (the other he lost the hearing in decades ago) and only has one eye. And then he woke up and now can’t hear at all??? They’re trying steroids but yikes. His remaining eye isn’t so great either!!
Oh, that sounds rough on your dad, meara! I'm sorry he has to deal with that.
Oh dear, meara. I hope they are able to resolve it. What a surprise.
Hahaha no I definitely meant 100% but now I’m laughing too.
I'm just going to start telling people I agree with them 10% from now on.
Hope that's quick to rectify, meara! Scary. My dad had macular deterioration late in life and that made him so depressed and isolated.
Oh, my gosh, meara, he must be in shock. Sending all good vibes his way.
It was already hard for him to do much of anything—he’s not very mobile at all, and had limited hearing and eyesight. But jeez, not sure what he’s going to do if he’s deaf!! He can’t listen to his baseball games! (Though as my sister pointed out that also means he can’t listen to Fox News) guess they’ll have to figure out how to zoom his computer screen big time.
I hope it’s a temporary thing, meara. Like an infection.
I temporarily lost most of my hearing a few years ago when both my ear drums mysterio burst. It was isolating in a world setting (although awesome at work at the time, made the days 97% better). I thought I liked the quiet but it turns out I like the quiet when it’s by choice.
I hope there are some options for your dad.
My Mom is still getting mail from a Catholic organization because she went to University of San Diego. I’ve called before but finally snapped on my voicemail today. I asked to have her removed because dead, explained I didn’t want the mailings because I wasn’t Catholic, neither was she and ended with asking that if they couldn’t stop mailings, please just change the address. To anything else.
