Do I wish I was somebody else right now. Somebody not... married, not madly in love with a beautiful woman who can kill me with her pinkie!

It was already hard for him to do much of anything—he’s not very mobile at all, and had limited hearing and eyesight. But jeez, not sure what he’s going to do if he’s deaf!! He can’t listen to his baseball games! (Though as my sister pointed out that also means he can’t listen to Fox News) guess they’ll have to figure out how to zoom his computer screen big time.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I hope it’s a temporary thing, meara. Like an infection.

I temporarily lost most of my hearing a few years ago when both my ear drums mysterio burst. It was isolating in a world setting (although awesome at work at the time, made the days 97% better). I thought I liked the quiet but it turns out I like the quiet when it’s by choice.

I hope there are some options for your dad.

My Mom is still getting mail from a Catholic organization because she went to University of San Diego. I’ve called before but finally snapped on my voicemail today. I asked to have her removed because dead, explained I didn’t want the mailings because I wasn’t Catholic, neither was she and ended with asking that if they couldn’t stop mailings, please just change the address. To anything else.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Goodness. I hope your dad regains hearing in the previously working ear, meara.

ETA: That apartment looks very nice, Laura. I love the balcony.

Our wings are not tired.

Of course there is a maybe 15 page lease, 14 pages of which are standard contract nonsense and I am not concerned. It is a condo building (just 15 units, but still condo) so there are like 4 different deposits. Landlord security deposit, Elevator security deposit, Pet deposit, and Common Area deposit (which is from the condo association). Anyway, it is written Common Area Fee. Words matter, and a fee is not a deposit. It has taken me 4 emails to say this different ways and they finally have said, oh you're right, we'll change the wording. At least they finally understood why I balked.

Fees and deposits are way different things, Laura! Good for you for writing email after email until they got it. And changed it.

I adulted and made an appt for a breast exam next week. They'll make the referral for the mammogram that I've procrastinated for ... a long while.

The breast exam I had scheduled two months ago but a Covid exposure and being responsible canceled it. Not enough responsibility to reschedule right away, but enough not to potentially expose them.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Tomorrow is Mr. S's birthday party. We're having it at a place called SkyZone, which does trampoline stuff. Funny thing is that one of his classmates is having a birthday party on Sunday at...SkyZone. Well, Mr. S will get plenty of bouncing time this weekend.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I hope it’s all fun, Sheryl!

Good for you being responsible, Cass! And health~ma. God knows you don’t need new health stuff to worry about.

Our wings are not tired.

Less than exciting, but productive day. Burned a whole bunch of construction trash. Cement bags and bits of lumber, along with pizza boxes and general box type trash. Sat outside with hose in hand for a couple hours or so just in case. I always soak the surrounding area and trees first. Fire pretty, but best in the confines of the fire pit.

Picked up some grass seed at the farm supply store. They have a pet washing station there! Two big tubs and drying stations. Thought that was cool. May bring Skinner along some time.

Heading to nephew's for pizza shortly. I have showered so no more physical labor for me. Crew put the roof on the porch today, so that was exciting.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We're back from the animal shelter where we just adopted Pickles a two year old guinea pig.

We brought her together with Prubs and they were busy vocalizing and Prubs wanted to groom her. But Pickles didn't like that and kind of attacked her. No blood was drawn so it might just be the usual assertion of dominance that pigs have to sort out. But poor Prubs! She was all welcoming and glad to have another pig, and Pickles (who is bigger than Prubs) just walloped her.

Hopefully when Pickles settles in and the pigs sort out their hierarchy it'll be okay.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Sweaty. Nothing like getting more of a view of your hoarder neighbor’s disorder to get you cleaning up and tossing out. Recycling was picked up Friday morning and my bin is almost full again. Also a bag of trash out. Lots of stuff put away including 2 bags of yard stuff taken from house to shelves in garage.
