Go senior Jessica!

Also yeah less than 24 hour notice is a bit ridiculous, askye! I guess they figure you shouldn’t be doing anything else if you’re disabled???

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Congrats, Jessica Sr!

I wish that was all easier, askye.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Yeah, less than 24 hours notice is really really difficult and they can't possibly be surprised that you can't make it.

Congrats on your promotion, Jessica!

I watched every minute of Judge Jackson's Senate Judiciary Committee hearings until today. Today just broke me. I couldn't; I started to choke on my own rage and I couldn't. And now they're deadlocked, 11-11, and will be passing her on for a full floor vote without being either approved or rejected (both Collins and Romney have committed to voting for her, so she should comfortably have enough votes even without VP Harris coming in to break a tie). Holy FUCK.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Congrats Jessica!

I spoke too soon about Mr. S's behavior last night. Me insisting that he take a bath led to another meltdown where he threw most of the contents of his room into the hallway. Yes, that included furniture. I cleaned up as much as I could, but it was a bad scene.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Congratulations, Sr. Jess!

I'm just going to pronounce that Ser Jess, GRRM style.

Congratulations!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Congratulations, Sr. Jess!

I'm just going to pronounce that Ser Jess, GRRM style.

That's so much better than my 12-years-of-Catholic-school-educated brain, which keeps reading it as "Sister Jess."

Congrats, senior-NOT-sister Jess!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

oh dear ... there's a blog for local goings-on that I read regularly. One of their daily features is a featured apartment for rent - the blogger has his passions (exposed brick, for one). I read it and usually pat myself on the back because the apartment I moved into two years ago is usually better than the Craigslist ads for the featured apartments - nicer, better location, larger, lower rent ... and the building management is actually good. The latest featured one was an 812-sf two bedroom two bath one ... which got a lot of negative comments. My favorite exchange:

Commenter 1: The listing notes "Original owner." Considering this place was built in 1910, do you really want to have a vampire as your landlord?

Commenter 2: If it's a hot vampire, maybe.

Commenter 3: The hot ones are the most emo, which is not a selling point in a landlord.

Sounds like there's a Buffista in there ....

Ha, Toddson, that's fantastic!

I got my second booster yesterday, switching it up from Pfizer to Moderna, and it is KICKING MY ASS. I'm crawling through the early morning meeting but I'm pretty certain I'll be collapsing as soon as it's over and I've finished the post-meeting paperwork.

JZ, hope the misery is short-lived (unlike you). I had the first booster in December - I think I've had all Pfizer - and each time, my arm was really painful and, I think, the day after I was totally out of it.

Toddson, my first dose and first booster were totally fine; second dose and second booster... whew. It's just a booster! It's only half-caf!
