Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So our wire transfer went through in two separate chunks. And now our lender must put up their chunk.

At which point we will be Fully Chunked, and mere micrometers (and several more DocuSigns) away from home ownership. Thanks to Buffy, we knew to look for a place which has already had a Full Copper Repipe.

Now we have to deal with the roof and the windows and the gutters.

JZ and I are honing our design choices, and we're leaning towards more of a mid-century vibe in the garden apartment (which is a fairly recent addition carved out of back of the garage), and more a Carl Larsson / Arts and Crafts vibe on our floor: [link]

The attic is still undetermined but based on its rustic vibe I'm leaning for a full Twin Peaks Great Northern PNW mystical weirdo wood vibe: [link]

But you know...with a celestial ceiling: [link]

We're thinking about a diner booth in the garden apartment with a formica dinette set: [link]

Chair possibility: [link]

Maybe Retro Oxford pattern for the table. Maybe Retro Surf...

I should've bookmarked those refrigerators amyparker shared.

CHONK YEAH

I just got a spam call that mentioned a pickle service contract. I'm sad to report that this appears to be a real thing to do with leases/taxes and not pickles as a foodstuff.

That is disappointing.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am TIGHTENING MY BUDGET BELT. So far today I have cancelled $45/month in things. Setting up an auto $50/month payment on a card to happen automatically in addition to any other payment I make.

Tonight I set up the new wifi and cancel the current one, that is an additional $20/month.

Next up is Disney+ at 7.99/month and then Netflix by month’s end at $15.49/month.

Thrive to spite them

David I love this ideas. I'm exited to see what you and JZ do witn your new home.

My aunt, her partner (they don't live together but have been together for a long time and it's odd to call home her boyfriend) are both 3x vaxxed. I think my dad and uncles are 3x vaxxed . Did a text check in and she said it's mild so far.

But things can happen and I'd rather not worry.

Dad has said he is not going around any of them until they start testing negative. He has been so so careful .

I'm at mom's for a few days and I'm crafting and hanging out .

Pickle service contract? That is bizarre!

I had my “this is your raise and bonus for the year” and am trying to decide if I’m annoyed. For context, the company has had a great couple years, and I could very easily get hired elsewhere and get a signing bonus etc. (but then I’d have to interview, and learn new systems, ewwww). The bonus is like, more than twice what it usually is (it’s usually a bit more than the raise). But the raise is basically the same as usual. Maybe a teeny bit better. I’d much rather have a bigger raise and a smaller bonus. I did say that to my manager, as well as the fact that given inflation the raise is not even COL, was disappointing. Not sure that’ll do anything but I honestly have no idea what my coworkers are paid…I don’t interact with any other people in my position who are in the US, and salaries I’ve seen elsewhere have a very wide range. ….the bonus is very nice though.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Being periodically supplied with an assortment of pickles sounds like a valuable service.

Raises that don't cover COL suck. Yay bonus, though!

Wait, actual interior design not just fantasy? I don't know if my brain can encompass that.

Sorry that class is like that, Jess. That everything-is-a-trick-question feeling sounds familiar and bad.

Go msbelle with the practical budget stuff!

Moving that one weekly meeting from Tuesday to Monday has thrown me for a loop, y'all!

Certainly there has to be a pickle subscription service out there.
