I was reading an article about dentists who now have dogs - I believe they're officially called "facility dogs" - who help keep nervous patients calmer. Dogs are carefully trained to work with multiple people, not react to the dentist's drill, lie on the patient's lap, rest on a clean cover on the person's lap and happily be petted while the dentist works. If another patient is allergic or afraid, dog is put in a separate room. Cleanliness is emphasized, so everyone's safe. I'm much less afraid of dentists now, but I could have used this when I was in my 20s.

OH MY GOD I want a dog at the dentist.
After being out among the humans all day yesterday, I have to do it again today. I can't help but think this is a bad plan. I could use a dog to help me cope. We actually allow dogs in the office now, but only one day a week and I guess it's Tuesday - my boss had her dog with her yesterday and that was nice. I may be ready to consider drinks after work in a few weeks...
We're going to our first concert tonight since late 2019, and I'm excited, but it also feels really weird. Not worried about Covid since I just had it.
I would worry that my weeping and wailing would upset the dental assistant doggo.
Drinks and concerts both sound very appealing. I'm deciding if I want to quickly arrange something for my anniversary on the 17th. Getting married on a holiday means there is always something going on that is festive.
Had a conference with ltc's teacher and principal this morning regarding the kid who has been bullying her this year and has escalated to grabbing her arm a couple of times. They were great and seem to be taking the situation very seriously.
A dentist dog would be awesome.
I'm so ready to have my temp bridge put in. They called me back and rescheduled it to earlier than originally scheduled. and as soon as the bridge is replaced (I think mid March) I'm scheduling to have a filling removed and a crown put in on the otherside. It's been not fun trying to eat the last few days. And my gum was irritated from the broken bridge rubbing on it and I think it's still irritated because it feels sore when things touch it. So i've been doing some saltwater rinses.
That is good news, sj. Bullying is an issue that needs to be taken seriously.
sj - agreeing with Laura; what's fairly minor now, if not addressed and stopped, will continue and escalate.
