Covid tests.gov is up a day early! I just ordered! Got knows when we will actually get them, but it’s something.

Also, y’all may be as entertained as I am by this—the kid is an ex’s (we’re still friends) and it’s cracking me up:

Thrive to spite them

Steph I'm sorry everything is so hard with Tim's dad.

Also the USPS shouldn't treat packages like that.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

that applies especially to the men "we" "like" for whatever reason

Absolutely.

OMG that Midnight Society thread is beautiful! Every time I read one I think I should stay on Twitter more just so I can follow Midnight Society but I can never manage it. Thanks for the link, Consuela!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I already shared that to a group chat! That kid is outstanding.

Every time I cough Zoom helpfully tells me I'm muted and I need to unmute if if I want people to hear me. At least I know I'm muted when that happens, I guess.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

wow ... I stay muted through most Zoom calls, since I rarely if ever have anything to say (the most I've said is that yes, I'm here and I can hear the call)

To amuse you, the story of two women, three cats and a blender.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I blame Bill Clinton for a lot of this, because we knew he was basically a garbage person, but we were weighing it against the good he could do and gave him a pass. I think that passed along to people like Joss as well, because we were used to it.

This, and also I think it's probably a good thing that we look back every 20 years and think "Holy crap, why did we think that was ever okay." It means we are slowly, gradually, painfully, moving vaguely forward?

Our school district's bus drivers basically all have Covid. Or have quit because of insufficient Covid protections by the DOT. So now every afternoon I get an email from the superintendent with the subject line "URGENT! Status of busing tomorrow" that tells me which buses won't be running due to the driver shortage.

ION I'm going to be working from home forever now because my daughter needs to be driven to and from school every day.

FFS, why don't they build a people mover pneumatic tube system already!

Jessica, that's a good point (about looking back). I'm old enough that I can remember when the general business environment was bad for woman and the casting couch was pretty much a given. Some men in power seemed to work on the assumption that being respectful of anyone who didn't control their employment was a sign of weakness; being respectful (if not downright fawning) of those who did control their employment was the way things worked.
