Overwhelming? How much more than whelming would that be exactly?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Mmmm, berry crisp.

Heal-up-ma to Laura.

Emmett pinged me yesterday to send money because he's hosting an 8 hour DnD session today, and needed to go food shopping. He and his girlfriend have both done a lot more cooking and adventurous cooking over the last two years. I wish I could take credit for it, but I think he's learned entirely from YouTube videos . (Which, in fairness, is how I learned a lot of my recipes and techniques.)

Can confirm, crisp is good.

One onerous task down. Really, the most onerous one, so there's that.

Love that people are hosting get-togethers (meara, Emmett, etc.) I have done zero in-home entertaining in ages and ages. I miss it, and plan to start again. Of course, we did just get our dining room table, which took four months to be delivered and is still shy three chairs.

And we need to buy furniture so that people can, you know, sit somewhere besides the dining room table (OK, it's not that bad, but this place has a LOT of potential to get much more comfy, less spare, and, I don't know, intentionally designed? I've just never been much of a space designer or things on walls person in my own spaces. I appreciate and love to be IN comfy nicely done places... I just don't seem to DO them.) Well, and to be fair, it's a lot of decisions. I get decision overload.

Our wings are not tired.

I really miss hosting and cooking for the masses. Oh well, this will happen again.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Ended up with a lot of rain last night. That plus above-freezing temperatures means there wasn't a huge amount of snow to deal with today.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I have spent the day doing paperwork, making onerous phone calls, doing paperwork, and dealing with money. All of which make me nervous. So now I’m going to watch some tv and hide under my weighted blanket.

Thrive to spite them

I'm playing Minecraft with E and we are on skype chatting. He did an online escape room with his other aunt and grandmother and they almost finished it. I asked him if he had fun and he says:

"oh don't worry sweetheart, we had plenty of fun" and not in a sarcastic way in a.. I'm not even sure how to explain the tone. I couldn't help but crack up and ask him where he had picked that up, he said he didn't but he must have.

And watching chat on the server is funny a lot of "bruh". Bruh! I just got a or Bruh! that is so cool! or whatever.

Ha, I know that age group. It is both adorable and eye-rolly in equal measure.

I read the entire article Tom linked in Press. Why I continued when I was getting more annoyed as I read is a mystery. My take ended up being, "it is possible I was as an ass on occasion, but I have all these reasons, and no way they aren't lying anyway". Whatever, you poor misunderstood dude. Yuck.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

whoooo, that Joss article is not good. For him, I mean.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

That Vice article? Really, no. But it helps put a lot of stuff into context for me.

And I will continue to have a fondness for that type of dialog, I suspect.

None of it will keep me from giggling at Pangs once a year.
